Good luck with that Black Ameraucana!  Ours did not start until she was 10 months old...same with her sibs from same hatch. All later layers, but once they start, we got nice large/extra large blue/green eggs :)

Rana (blue Ameraucana that got killed by hawk) started at right about 28 weeks. Kali (black) started following Bigboy around like a lost puppy about a week ago & he just started being very amorous towards her..same thing happened with Rana just before her first egg...so I'm hopeful she's very close!!!!

I had some big sun flowers this year!

Such a beautiful day out there today. All things considered, I would rather be watching the football games. Since I cut the cable last winter I have lots of time for chores.
It's a perfect day for moving firewood. I probably haven't moved as much as Robo-Opa but I have moved several face cord up under the patio cover.
One thing I have noticed is that there is no sign of mice in the wood. I'm giving credit to the parakeets for being good mousers. Most of the firewood is stored in the aviary.

That is all for now, back outside to build another rack and stack some more wood. There is something of a Zen-like quality to stacking firewood.
