Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Water out in my tractor froze pretty solid last night. I got home late from GVSU getting whipped by Ashland and I was a little worked up about that, took me a while to wind down from it.  Anyways, about 5 oclock or so I took a salsa jar and heated some water up in the microwave to put out there in the tractor for my girls so that they would have something to drink and then I brought their water inside in the mud room to give it a chance to thaw out.  Got back up around 8ish to put the waterer back out there, then slepted in till 11.

Anybody else here bumping into walls now because of the time change??

LOL I ALWAYS bump into the walls. Balance is that far off... that is why my friends were mad when they found out I did that monitor window by myself.

I cracked the ice film and poured hot in. Fed them and came back in myself. Could have stayed out though as the coop is 20 degrees warmer inside!!! But I'm going to go to bed early tonight. Have more coop work I want to do tomorrow and since I have no more bowls I guess I'll have to break down and do dishes too. LOL

Has anyone ever seen a EE roosters color like this? Thanks :)

Looks a tad like my recently adopted, Travis. He is an EE x BCM, so think that makes him an EE Roo..

I bump into walls and stuff anyway. Just more for a few weeks with DST. I hate it. I'm already to go to bed and it's not even 8 o'clock. I do better with falling back than springing forward though.

With morning temperatures in the 20s I didn't get overly excited about heading for the woods. A brother who lives in Norton Shores was coming to get Granny for the coming week so I decided to wait until after he arrived. Once Granny's stuff was loaded Hope and I haeded for the farm.

Spent the rest of the day cutting firewood. One 5x8 trailer load we placed in my old farmer friend's basement and the second load wwe hauled to Hope's friend. She lives on a rather limited budget and our taking her a few loads of wood definitely helps.

Cutting and hauling wood is hard work and at 5 I was ready to quit. Being tired from hard work doesn't seem so bad when you think about how much your efforts benefited someone in need.

Welcome, Czarben! You live in Lansing and have chickens?? We're planning on moving back to the Lansing area and are looking for a area that allows chickens. You'll like it here on this forum. Lots of nice people.
