TD, looks like your color is very good. How is your egg color?

So far, the eggs I've gotten are sky blue. I can't guarantee all of them will lay that color since a couple of pullets are a little younger than others and haven't started laying just yet. They should start laying anytime, though. So, I'll try to keep you updated.

not sure what the apple cider vinegar would be used for but....if its for birds....don't except it to do a whole lot for the birds...or cure anything...its more of a nice drink for the birds....
here some info on it....IT DOESNT TREAT COCCIDIOSIS....USE CORID IF HAVING A PROBLEM...IF YOU NEED AMOUNTS TO DOSE JUST ASK..IM A CLICK AWAY
Apple cider vinegar (ACV)

Liquid Bragg's Organic Unfiltered Apple Cider "with the Mother" Health food & grocery stores $2-6 Vinegars Respiratory diseases, general health, prevention of Coccidiosis Pour small amount in drinking water.

Helps clear mucus.
Raw, unfiltered ACV "with the mother" is most effective.

Okay so I have decided that because I am down to like 9 hens and because I am going to come up with my own welmar type chick I am looking for some cuckoo marans that have some good color eggs in the 5-7 range, and some good welsumers with good egg color and then using the welbar breeding plan make the welmars but I don't want to start with hatery I mean hatchery chicks... so the question doe anyone have any line on some good cuckoos and some good welsumers, would be willing to take non show quality(standards) birds as this project is really after the egg color and yes I know the welsumers are already autosexing, its as much about doing a science project with the kids to teach them basic genetics, so anyway if anyone knows of a source and willing to you can pm me thanks all.

also once you have your braggs you can buy the cheaper store brand filtered stuff and add the braggs to it and it will grow a mother in the cheaper bottle

does anyone know how to make vinegar from unpasteurized apple cider?
Quick Method

  • 1
Follow step one above. If the cider is purchased in plastic, transfer the liquid to a glass bottle.
  • 2
Add 1 tablespoon bread yeast to the cider. Put the top on the bottle and shake to distribute the yeast evenly. Remove the top.
  • 3
Secure a wine-making airlock to the bottle. Set the bottle in a cool, dark place and let the vinegar work for at least a month.
  • 4
Check after a month to make sure the cider has turned to vinegar. Siphon the finished vinegar to clear jars and close with a lid.

Who's got turkeys and where do you keep them (besides the freezer, lol)? My two have outgrown the temporary coop in the barn. Mine are hen and tom calico's.
I've just got 2 but mine free range with the geese.

My brother shared this picture with me that a friend took of a sunrise. I thought I'd share it with you.
Beautiful, Thanks Opa and good luck Tuesday.

I REMEMBER IT AS SOMETHING THAT JUST HAPPENED in the jug in the fruitcellar as the cider aged. A bacterial process? natural. No ideas on how to foster iiit.
Nice to hear from you.
I don't know of anything that ACV treats but I put a couple of teaspoons/liter of water, especially for newly hatched and they do well on it.
