I got my boss really good tonight. At TSC there's some plush chickens that have a little noise maker in them that goes peep peep peep, I bought 2 of them and gave them to her wife tonight. She texted her at home about how I went to TSC and got her some chicks. She texted her back with a WHAT? and she called her at work asking about it. Chris ran with it a little, hitting the noise makers in them so that Josie could hear peeping in the background. But we then texted her a picture of her of the chicks in my hands. Hopefully next spring they'll be chicken owners as well. I know Chris really wants to have a little farm with goats and such.

On the bird front we've avoided any new chicks, ducklings, or poults for the first year in a long time. On the mammal side it looks like my FGs and NZs will be having kits in a month and be ready for Chickenstocker's. Getting ready to have baby goats though is exhausting and mentally challenging me to a frazzle. Up every few hours checking one doe in her barn quarters. Making a kid box today. Buying more needed items that should have been ordered months ago. Wondering if the other does are going to present. Ughh, I love it. Ha ha!

Oh yeah, a milking stand...got to get on that too...

If your bringing FGs i definately need some...our FG buck is getting quite old and we would like to semi-retire him. Also need some does my pure doe died last fall from old age she was 5...the buck is 6.

so sorry to hear about this...however once you hit submit on byc wheather they are copyrighted or not or even watermarked you are giving anyone permission to do whatever they please with the pics...cause you hit the submit button saying that nothing that you are submitting is infact copyrighted....just thought i would share...my pics as well are all over the internet...and theres nothing i can do because i thought i would share the beautiful birds...bummmer huh....hope everything gets cleared up for sure...not cool but people do this to get ahead and its a shame...they obviously wish they had your birds...

Abosolutley not true. Posting something on BYC does not invalidate US Copywright law.

so sorry to hear about this...however once you hit submit on byc wheather they are copyrighted or not or even watermarked you are giving anyone permission to do whatever they please with the pics...cause you hit the submit button saying that nothing that you are submitting is infact copyrighted....just thought i would share...my pics as well are all over the internet...and theres nothing i can do because i thought i would share the beautiful birds...bummmer huh....hope everything gets cleared up for sure...not cool but people do this to get ahead and its a shame...they obviously wish they had your birds...

BYC TOS says nothing about losing your copyright when you post a picture,not sure where you got that from?....Ebay also specfically says you can only use your own pictures you created yourself.

You need to refresh yourself on copyright laws. And as the others have said, posting on BYC does not take away the right to your own copyright. So the pictures are still mine. And I will not let someone make profit off of them UNLESS I give them my permission to do so.

Guess what, if they'd have asked to use my photos, I would have said yes! As long as there is a very clear message that those are not photos of the person who has the listing up, so they are not the actual birds laying the eggs but a representative of the breed. Also, they would have need to cite me as the person who took the photo.

i understand what copyright laws are but they are diffused when you go to a community forum like this and post when it clearly states that you understand your not submitting any copyrighted materials...not to press the issue..but it was u that put it here....and are having problems...i understand your dilemma...just dont bring it down on me like its my fault or i need to refresh when it clearly states in the rules whats what....and what to put out for a picture...people dont understand that a site like this can take your stuff and put it out there...because you hit the submit button...so be easy on the accusations on what i need to do...i have law enforcement background and understand fully...but when you submit something and they flat out say...

That agreement gives BACKYARD CHICKENS permission to use the photos that users upload. NOT the users of Backyard Chickens to use other members photos. Meaning the website could incorporate my pictures into their banner and it would be just fine, I agreed to that. But a BYC user could not steal my photo to use as a banner on their website.
