Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hey everyone!

Boyne your chickens are pretty.

Mary I'm Glad you had a good time. My hubby called me Friday afternoon to tell me radiator in the good truck is now leaking most likely caused by the deer collision that occurred a couple months ago. So no trip south last weekend for us. :( oh well we made the best of the weekend and at least we'll be ready for concrete Saturday we're building a pole barn.

Oh yea and im not sure if i shared this tid bit but my bantam hen is setting on three eggs again. Due to hatch in the next week..... don't really want or need more chicks I'm trying to thin out my big flock but oh well it was easier to let her set than try to break her. If they hatch they'll be silkie/EE/Cochin mix.

Took shade cloths down today, and temporary garage abattoir disassembled.
New flock cockerel Willie is getting along great, am very happy with his demeanor.
Got an obsessed nest messer upper crated for bad habit breaking.
Gorgeous weather the past couple days.
Hope it lasts thru tomorrow afternoon so I can get the aged wood chippings I'm picking tomorrow morning into the run before more rain moves in.

Hi, I am from the St. Johns area and was wondering if anyone nearby sells any silkie and polish eggs for hatching.

Got brave on friday and tossed the little ones into the big coop. Other than a little minor showing them where exactly their place is on the pecking order, they have been doing pretty good.
Always a nervous time. More so for us humans. The chickens seem to deal with it far better than we do.
