Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Third morning in a row that I woke up to white ground. Most of it was blown away after noon-ish. I hate when the weather report includes a wing-chill.
Used the tractor to rake the driveway. Big pile of leaves for the compost. They were so wet and slippery that I just had to get them off. Life in the woods, eh?

Finally got the plastic sheeting up on the run today! It looks rough, but effective. Yeah!
And, almost ready to move the horses to their winter pasture. Hope to finish the electric and set up the heated waterer tomorrow. They move before Nov 15th every fall!
It always takes me longer, and gets cold sooner, than I wish. BUT there's no way I'd live in Florida or California!!!

I still need to do a coop cleaning and move the sheep to their winter pasture and re fill the pig shelter with straw for burrowing. She has nice dog house to go into that's insulated etc.. but prefers to stay out in the boxed in area on the ground.

Raz,
She meant well....

aart...... keep those nipples warm this winter.... LOL! So how did you make the heater?
I saw a real nice raised heater and feeder at our local mill and I would love to get them, but keeping the water from freezing in winter would be a problem!

It's frustrating sometimes Rachal... I had to do the same with some of my sheep. Sold some of them, but had to process several of them as well (they are good eating though) I only have 6 girls left. Ducks are cute n' all, but I'll never own them again. They are too messy for the time I have to "farm" and the pond we had hoped to keep a few ducks on was always drying up on us, so we gave up on water fowl.

We have an extremely inconvenient 6-8" of snow that does not appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. Glad I got the outdoor stuff done when I did, still had to scramble to hook up the roof heat tape before an ice dam formed. What the heck!
Consider yourself lucky. I heard that Marquette and Munising got 12 to 18 inches.
No snow here today. So I got the leaves cleared from the driveway. 2-3 inches of leaves fell. :gig
