Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Not quite chicken related but I successfully a new circuit in the garage yesterday. Even went into the box with a new breaker. No shock, no sparks, no fire, and it actually works.

Today, I tackle the permanent wiring for the coop. One outlet for the heated water, one light for overhead and one motion detector light for the outside. I'll wait until spring for the cable TV.

Not much going on here...got new glasses which is both nice and bit frustrating.
Need to take down brooder so can access wood burner if necessary this winter,
will also make room to build new feeder I have in mind.

Pullets are slacking, I see some possible bullying going on out there.
Cranked up the lights in the last week or so, and 2 hens are back in lay.

The mild weather has been nice,
easier for both me and the dog to navigate some outside time.
Looking forward to Solstice, don't do that other holiday.

Randy, have everything in conduit, or that electric cable covered in rat-safe wire (don't know what it's called). And outdoor outlets, all that stuff. Never burn it down!
Mary
It is. I use conduit for all of wire routing. The whole coop is protected with GFCI. I also have a good fire extinguisher Located outside the coop, just in case. Same with the garage. I'd rather be overly cautious now then sorry later.

Got brooder broken down and stashed in garage....so nice out got a few other things tidied up in garage.

Thinks one of the pullets is broody

Finally went Christmas shopping. Hate shopping. But, I do usually start in Oct. Time just flies! Now the wrapping. Oh, son in law called and wants me to go shopping for my daughter. This guy works 7 days a week. They left for a family vacation. So, I get to do more shopping!
Have a good day...

THE SUN IS SHINING!!! After all the fog and clouds, it looks great!
Starting the day after Thanksgiving, we packed up our 1968 era kitchen, and had it totally gutted, up to removing the soffets. What a mess, but that phase is over. Now cabinets and floors are going in, with typical snafus, non too serious yet. No kitchen though, only a microwave and bathroom sink. No Christmas dinner here!!!
Just venting a bit through the upheaval...
There's no good time to do this either, and it will be much better when done.
Mary

Garage doors were installed today. I am one happy camper.
