Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I swear that the makers of Blu-Kote have intentionally designed the application bottle to spray everywhere except where you need it.
Operator error
When I used it, (worthless IMO), I sprayed it into a bottle cap the used a qtip to apply to bird.

Randy, I'll likely have a rooster this spring, down here, but not an Orph. I guess you could order some chicks and keep one. Maybe split an order?

That's what I remembered, so that's a great idea. Which hatchery? If Cackle, I'm interested too.

Yeah, I'm looking at Meyer as its only about 2.5 hours away from me. Easy enough for me drive down there, get some lunch, pick up chicks, and then jet back home with them on say like a Thursday, and probably meet up with Raz and anyone else on Sunday. I'm kinda thinking about doing it sometime around mid March as I would want it a little warmer in Mom's garage as I keep my brooder there. Hopefully we don't have to deal with a polar vortex then.

That ice storm we got on Tuesday was pretty nasty here. Had about 3/8ths of an ice of ice everywhere, and it snapped two of my stands for the portable fencing for the girls. had a heck of a time taking it down, really wish I had thought to do it the night before. Pretty sure I'm going to have to replace that stretch of netting come spring as its getting pretty rough looking and more prone to breaking. Probably close to 3 years old now, maybe 4. Worst of all for me is that when I was chipping the ice off of my car, I didn't put gloves on and when I was coming around the car, I passed next to the truck parked next to me here and my hand hit the icicles hanging off of the mirror and scratched up the back of my thumb. Its a real pain in the butt for me to deal with that at work.

Luckily, I had shortened up my fencing for winter as they wasn't going to need that much of it, and I had some extra stands left over in storage. Got them today and got the fence back up for the girls so that they could be outside for a while. at least keep them from looking at the same four walls all day.

So tired of the bitter cold and the wind.
Excited to be going to a Valentine haunted house today. Love haunted houses.
My egg production has been up and down. From 1-4 eggs. Only have 10, but a couple are older. Gosh, my number sure are down. When I lived in Davison, I had 32 chickens. Oh well....

Bummer on the breakage @bigmrg74 .
Lucky not to have any damage with ice and wind here.
Yeah, I'll probably make some new stands this spring when it warms up some, probably fix up the old ones as well. Pretty sure that the weighted stands work best when I can start putting sand in it down in the base of it and really pack it in there than trying to get it all in there from the top of them at the end.

Another 1 or 2 inches of snow here tonight. At least it ain't ice.
