Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Same here...dog is not liking that crust, goes romping out stops dead still then tiptoes back, must hurt his old feet.
It's why I keep my paths shoveled, I can't walk on that crap either.

We got a few new inches here too......wondering...
Should I try to throw the 2" of snow off the driveway, or let it turn into ice pack?
Stopped by Dunham's in Adrian today and they had some Yaktraks in. Nothing quite my size left, but they had a pair that I thought would work for mom's boots. Barnyard has been pretty icey so it would be better for her to have them on while she's out there. https://yaktrax.implus.com/

And then I stopped by FFH, and really wished I had a responsible adult with me today. They had chicks in. Nothing really exciting, just some Cornish Rocks and Rhode Island Reds. I walked by there. But I did also score an 11 pound bag of mealworms for the clearance price of 60 bucks. Not quite the doorbuster deal I got on them a year ago on Black Friday at TSC, but enough that it's going to keep my girls happy for a while.

And speaking of fart machines............. I used one on my dad and new sister n law several years ago as a joke....well..... either my husband is lying, or the machine went on the fritz and it started working on it's own at 12:30 am last night... woke me up from a sound sleep (and that was after going to bed early for once) needless to say I was out for blood looking for the darn machine. I can take a joke anytime, but don't ever, ever wake me up for it! :tongue

Silly, she's usually the bully. The flock has the 4 youngest to pick on. :hmm

I don't need a fart machine.. I AM the fart machine! Just ask my grand kids! :lau:gig

Waiting to see what the weather is going to be. So far nothing. Notice it happens every Wednesday. The day my sweet little dog and I go to visit the seniors.

Have a good day......

Well the long story short about the fart machine. My dad was ours for the longest time... if he let one rip he would say "Here deer" like it was his deer call. So in his later years, I started playing pranks on him at start of deer season, I got a fart machine and made labels for it calling it a deer caller, tapped it to the chair in his blind. It didn't work the next morning cause of the cold or faulty button... idk... but it sure decided to work 5 years later in my bedroom the other night.... lol!

That's sweet of you to take your dog to the seniors... I hope, if I end up in a home, that someone will do the same for me.

I have a pair of boots that are studded with ice racing screws. I think they are in the storage cube. They are not in the house. I needed them today.
Talking water to the coop and the damn devil-dog hit me at full run. Took my legs completely out from under me. I landed on my back on top of the dog. Hurt his hind leg.

After finally making it to the coop, there was a Wyandotte sitting on the nest. About time they started laying. The BSLs are getting good at it.

Hope you and the dog are ok, RaZ.
My dog loves going and sitting on the laps of the residents. The residents love her snuggles. I love spending time with the seniors and chatting. There's one lady there that has Parkinsons. She has hallucinations. Old men are always on her bed. We have such a good time laughing and making jokes about those men in her bed. It gets a bit racy at times. The employees are always coming in and seeing what we're laughing at.

You guys are a riot

Just got off the garage roof, that was the last roof that we needed to shovel - I do only about the bottom 5 feet, but that should keep from having any ice problems and relieve the weight a little bit. It's not really snow up there it's more like an archaeological excavation - layers of snow intermixed with hard icy snow down to the roof level, which is a granular icy pellet. Very slippery. The snow up there is hip deep, and I am afraid of heights so it is quite an undertaking. And we're supposed to get another 4-inches tonight, and then more this weekend. Ugh.
Raz, I hope both you and the dog are okay. I wished I had some yaktrax while I was up on the roof.
