Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Finally found some good wood chippings!
Lots O' Luck happened.
Chips were at local yard waste lot, DPW loaded borrowed truck with front end bucket.
Cart height matched truck gate, just scoop and drag with chip fork.

Drop and drag with tarp made quick unloading.

Will probably get at least one more load within the next couple weeks.

Nice!
Just spent the weekend with the Midwest Ox Drovers Ass'n gathering at Tillers near Kalamazoo. Fun! We used to have a team, but not anymore. Our 'party' is also smaller than it used to be, but still a good time. The weather was great, in spite of early forecasts. Maybe pictures later.

Working the closing shift really stinks because I don't get home until after midnight and the coop is locked up until I get home.

As a result, I lost half of my flock to a weasel or mink. I found 8 headless carcasses outside of the fenced in run. Oddly enough, all of the littles were left alone.

I thought the run was pretty near safe but I think I need a hot wire.

That stinks RaZ :(

We'll figure something out for next year... it's one of those things that will wain and grow. I'd be happy to come up with a sign again.

I wasn't even home to enjoy my birds last week, worked in Ann Arbor Monday and Tuesday, Tuesday night flew to Toronto, visited a new building and our old location, flew out Wednesday night to Minnesota, visited the old location and the new building, flew out Thursday night to Schaumberg IL to visit the new location and the old one....... Flew home Friday night...I was pretty tired. I have 4 locations under my belt now, and 3 are undergoing relocations and site rebuilds - all to be done by October... this is going to be one busy summer!

I lived near Schaumburg. In Elk Grove. Grew up in Chicago. That's a lot of traveling!
RaZ, maybe make yourself an automatic pop door opener. I have one and it sure saves the day when you can't get home to close the door. Sorry about your chickens.

No Doubt!!
What is it you do?

Broody got chicks up on a roost, finally, at 4 weeks...still not spending much time with flock.
