I'm trying to restore an area as prairie for the pheasants. I'll look into Pheasants Forever. I spooked up a small ground bird earlier today. Woodcock, grouse, or some other bird of that type.Randy, how about the Pheasant's forever seed mixes?

What a doll!I have a few younger hens almost at POL, though the fox killed a number of those as well. The problem is the fox is being encouraged by the neighbor, he feeds her in winter. (so he says)
I think after this last group of hens are past laying I will stop with chickens for a while. That, or I'm thinking about a hoop tractor so I can let them out still (eggs are so much tastier) They got my last Uggo hen that I've had for a long time...
But on a happy note, we got our shop all done outside. Siding is up, building inspector approved. We're having the builder come back to install one more window on the other end and then it's on to the Ele and gas (DH is going to install a furnace!).
