The big day was september 13th, and we had to sweat out the rain we had down here in Tecumseh. It had rained off and on all day and when it was getting to be about five oclock the set up crew was out in the reception hall's courtyard to dry off the chairs with towels and a leaf blower. It has a big window wall with doors on that end of the hall and I'm standing there facing the courtyard to avoid seeing Amy before the ceremony, and just as they're wrapping up, a quick soaker hits. The guy with the leaf blower just looks up to the sky and says "Really??" I was right there with him. Thankfully, it passed in about 2 minutes and they went back at it. And then they handed out paper towels to guests to make sure that their seats are dry. All in all, everything after that went great and pretty much according to the plan.

After that, the honeymoon started, a GVSU come from behind win in Allendale against the Statesmen of Delta State - AKA - The Fighting Okra. From there, a run up 131 and over to 75 to across the bridge to St. Ignace, and a day over to Mackinac Island. After that, up to Munising and did the Picture Rocks cruise, a glass bottom shipwreck cruise, saw some of the waterfalls up there, and even got lucky enough to see a black bear and her 3 cubs cross the road in front of us. She crosse the road way ahead of us and didn't linger with the kids by the road, so no pictures of them. After that, we went back downstate to Birch Run to do a little shopping there at the outlet stores, and the next day was Bronners and Frankemuth before heading home.

All and all, pretty good trip for the honeymoon, and the only real downer of the trip was that last night in Birch run when my mom messaged me saying that something got ahold of my black Iowa and pretty much scalped her. She made the call to have my brother put her out of her misery as she wasn't quite dead yet, and from the pics I've seen of it was likely the right call to make. Sucks to see her go, but at least she was one of my older girls and not one of my newer ones.
