Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Here is a link for your enjoyment. There should be two house roofs visible, we are the south one.

There was quite a bit of local fires here in 2019 but they were all contained effectively. The government did try to help, but found few local people that were actually willing to put forth the effort it takes to be an effective brush fire fighter.
Awesome update. I fig the parallel reference. Coolness on the red line drop site as well...

Things sure are getting crazy. My SIL just lost her job too. My MIL, had another severe stroke and we can't go see her. I know it's hard on her not seeing her son. (hard on him too) People panicking and buying the stores out. The virus is in Jackson area now.
Tried to log in to MiWorks for my unemployment, and the site was down - I think they got flooded with people applying and they waved a bunch of requirements.

I have a feeling it's going to be hard for me to find a job for a while. My DH applied for one, had the job offered, but they are delaying it due to all this hoopla. So here we sit.

BTW - I love lilacs too :tongue would love some of those double whites and reds if you have any!

FFH recently opened a store in Brooklyn (home of Michigan International Speedway) recently and the local rumor mill is that they're going to be buying the Shopco building on the west side of Tecumseh as well and drop one in there as well, if the owner if the building would stop jerking them around and make the deal. Last I knew the building still had the for sale sign up yet. But it pretty much would be a perfect location for them with space to put outdoor stuff there as well. That can be kind of an issue for some of their other locations that are in strip malls.
Yep that's the store near me in Brooklyn. I was glad to see the dog food I get for the puppy there so I don't have to go to Jackson for it. I was just talking to DH when we drove by the shop co in Tecumseh...we wondered if that store would be turned in to an FFH.

Well take care yall!

It certainly is crazy out there. A local bank just closed all lobby business. The drive-up is open and other banking by appointment only. The gas station was crazy busy on Friday. Big runs on beer and liquor. TP and bread was gone before I even got there. Then Sunday was dead. I had the slowest day since I started. Even tonight was slow. We are out of milks, eggs, chip dip, most cigarettes, and other things. Several of my regular customers told me that they had been laid off due to the governor shutting down bars, restaurants and whatnot. This is bat-poop crazy. At least the price of gas has dropped. $1.85 at our place.

I thought I broke my wrist yesterday. Working on the garage, up on the ladder when it slid out from under me. Dropped about 14' to the cement below. Hospital is closed unless it is a life-threatening situation. So I iced it down and wrapped it up. Also scraped both shins, cracked my elbow and somehow cut my nose. Thankfully I had some pain meds from my last injury.

Chickens are laying consistently so maybe I can get a few more egg customers. Sold 2 dozen on Sunday and still have another 8 dozen available. I've been getting a lot of dirty eggs lately. Not sure why. The coop is pretty clean but the run has been fairly muddy. Hens have dirty feet some day.

Just a couple of weeks until I start the new job. My optimism level is pretty high right now. I hope that things will start getting better for me. :fl

Y'all stay safe, healthy, and don't panic. Everything will be back to normal by CS20.

Yay! a digging party! BYOS (bring your own shovel)

I hope everyone stays safe! Don't go out unless you really need to. Can still go for walks. Get out and enjoy nature. Play with the chickens! lol

I'm up to my ears in huge duck eggs. Can't sell enough, can't eat enough. Guess I should not complain. Made the monthly run to TSC. Always get the 20 bag, or more, supply to get the 5% discount. Looks like a wet day tomorrow. Garage work it is.
