Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Belly is around 15 years. She did make it out to the porch when I got home from work. Her left hind foot curls when she stands and she can't put any weight on it. I think it over-taxes her other rear leg trying to compensate.
Oh, poor old girl :(

One bit of good news tonight.
One of the drop-off chicks went missing over the weekend. Wasn't sure if a predator got it, LB somehow chased it away, or it escaped the brooder on it's own. Whatever happened, she was gone for a couple of days. Closing up the big coop, I see a small bird on the trailer fender. Little hen came home to roost. She is back in the brooder with the others.

Sorry to hear about your pup, RaZ. Hip dysplasia is what got our golden growing up and it was rough to see him hurting. I've heard sometimes supplements can help with it. Is doggie CBD cheaper than human? What we have seen has been quite pricey.

My girls are a mess right now. Lot of them are molting hard, and the egg supply has dried up. I probably need to get them in under lights soon and see if that gets at least this years pullets to fire up a little more, and maybe one of the ones that are almost over it. Darn egg sucking dogs.

When I was working a real job I was always abler to get proper care for my critters. The last couple of years have been a nightmare.
I'm sorry you dog is hurting. It's so hard to see. We love them so. Hope she gets feeling better. My dog takes prednisone occasionally for allergies. I think it helps the arthritis too because she has a much easier time getting up on the bed when she is taking it. We try to limit it as much as possible because of possible long term side effects.

Thank you. I'm sorry she is hurting too. And I feel bad that there doesn't seem to be much that I can do to help her. She hasn't moved at all from where she was when I left for work. She isn't whimpering or crying. Her tail still wags when I look at her, pet her, or just stay in sight.

Such a hard decision to make. My heart breaks each time I have had to make it.
It is indeed.
I let one dog go on too long, she was miserable even with pain meds.
Almost one year ago I decided I would not let Rascal get that bad.
Often the best decision for them is the hardest for us.
