Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Laughed my head off while tarping off the windward sides of my run with greenhouse plastic yesterday. This girl kept jumping on top of the oyster shell/grit feeder and waterer in order to see what I was doing! I think it's fun that I'm getting followed around for treats every time I come outside now :) Trying to figure out how to take pictures through hardware cloth is tricky!

If she hasn't laid yet (the other one started laying in early October) will she likely wait until Spring or is it too soon to tell?

Well crap! Water founts had ice in them this morning. Good thing I rotate the founts on a regular basis. So the chickens and ducks had fresh, liquid, water when I opened the coop. It seems like it got too cold too fast this year. Going to use the heated fount now.

Beautiful day here. Bright and sunny but cold. Had an aerial predator circling overhead so the birds stayed in the coop for most of the morning. Looks like my roo was doing his job. :thumbsup

Brrrr! 28° in the coop, poopcicles.
Ice on the pondsai.
Nipple waterers were still fine tho.

Thought I'd get some winter prep chores later when it warms up.
But decided to just wait until next week....so lazy day here.
Hopefully everything else will be 'sunnier' then too.

I put shower curtain plastic from around the NW corner to around the SW corner, as far as three curtains would go. Supposed to have some pretty strong winds here tomorrow, so I was just in time. The wind should bring down the rest of the leaves that will come down this season; we have a lot of oak, so there are leaves that wander down from now till they grow next spring.

I put some leaves in the run. The chickens loved it. Three piles spread out nicely. I may save some to add on top of the snow that will eventually get here. Sorry to use that four letter word; hope I didn't offend anyone!
