Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Where is everyone?? You all getting things done for the holiday? Got things pretty much under control, for right now. Things will change when I have to fill the 50 manicotti. A couple of my grandkids came over yesterday and we made Christmas cookies and they had fun decorating them.

Well, want to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS! I know most will be different, but I hope you day is filled with love. Take care and stay safe!

Found a piece of what sure looked like egg membrane this morning. Hoping someone dropped a softie and they ate the rest of it....and a fully intact and shelled egg is imminent.

I don't do the common winter holidays, or gifts, or feasts, or gatherings...
...just quietly celebrate the coming longer days.

Wishing a Blessed Winter Solstice to all!

No telescope, but it would be a nice addition!
We have trees in the western sky, not a help either. If it's actually clear one night, I might move away from the tree line to see it better.
First conjunction in 800 years! We won't be seeing another.

Mfranks, nice looking coop and run. looks nice and roomy.
Thanks!!! Admittedly it has gotten a bit out of hand. It went from a coop to a shelter house you would see at the park. Had to pump the brakes and remind the guys it’s a chicken coop...

@Folly's place the soffits under the roof will be open for ventilation but covered for protection. Thanks for the keen eye. We were going to cover them with the same material on the house, but decided to keep the rafters exposed on the front side to soften the look. We also changed the roof pitch on the front to again create more of a coop look and less of a hunters cabin;) im lucky to have a group of guys build it...and they are all hunters!

I will send more photos shortly if you would kindly share your thoughts. Stressful!

@aart Happy Winter Solstice! It’s all upside from here. Happy Monday everyone

Yes! Happy Solstice! Officially at 5:02 this morning. According to a sunrise/sunset website I found, though, the sun won't be rising earlier until around mid-January. The extra light will be all evening until then. Which is fine by me!

Now, can someone please tell the girls to get back to work? I'm still buying eggs.

we saw the planets the 20th. clear sky. My brother in Florida saw it last night,,,it was his birthday, told him that was a good birthday present.
