Merry Christmas to all, weather ,...not so nice but White for many of us.

For 2 or 3 weeks I have had one hen laying an egg a day , yesterday I went out and she has decided to go broody maybe this cold snap will help to brake her. No rooster so no baby's and I would rather have the egg

The dusting of snow from last night really shows the topography of the area around us. The path to the garden is white, but the fields are still brown.

Hard to believe it was 30 degrees warmer just 12 hours ago.

The tarps around the run have kept the snow out. Still waiting to see what the chickens' reactions are to snow on the ground. SO glad I got the heated water bowl. $20 pretty well spent.

The only pullet I had this year went broody in Oct, she broke easy but still hasn't laid again.

I bought eggs yesterday, from another backyarder...was hoping that would kick my girls into gear.

COLD today, especially after yesterday! Maybe some snow tomorrow, the best day all year for it. We'll be home, so three for dinner tomorrow, as the 'Covid year' marches on. Next fall and winter should be better. .

I think my chickens preferred the warmer weather too, they wouldn’t come out of their coop this morning so I had to move their feed and water right next to the door

Got about 3" and still falling.
Parts of NY state got 39" last week, now facing inches of rain and flooding.

I saw the photos from NY. Better them than us!
Made chocolate mousse today, and going to have a nice but small dinner tomorrow.
