Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hubby and I have an inside running joke about that being our "favorite" commercial.

I just imagine people who sing these commercials.

"I got a gig! Millions of people will hear me!"

"Yeah??? How exciting!"

"It's a commercial jingle. 'Save big money at...'"

"STOP!!!"

When I was a kid, there was an ad for rustproofing your car (oh, how that dates me!) with Ziebart. The jingle was, "Ziebart, Ziebart, it's us, or rust!" sung in a forceful male voice. My mom said, "Can you imagine the guy who sings that?" Oh, we laughed about that for a long time.
Mine is "Hefty, Hefty HEFTY" blah!!

For today's chickie snack, I made mash out of the new organic food. I don't know if they could tell the difference, but they ate it all! That's a good sign.

If I decide to not use up the rest of the old stuff, is there something I can use it for? I could dump it out in the field, far away from the house and garden. Would deer eat it? Or would it just feed the mice and rats?

Don't put the feed out for the deer to access, that is illegal now in MI.

Mine are feathered. Brown feathers and tan eggs. Go brown and tan. :lau

A college education is a lifetime commitment. Meaning that you'll pay for it for the rest of your life. :(

Not sure exactly why June was picked for Chicken Stock. It was a perfect time for swapping birds though. Chicks were ready to be moved outside so new homes were easy transitions. It was also a great time for trading trading plants too. Later on, people ran into conflicts of time with weddings and graduations. Then we had that bird-flu thing about 3 years ago. Some of our old regulars got out of chicken keeping. Then the Covid thing last year. Organizing an event like this is often difficult to coordinate. Especially when it is done on a volunteer basis. It was usually just a few people with the time to commit to the organization. Many thanks to those who got it done in the past. I hope we can get it going again. It was a great event.
I paid mine off several years ago.. (4 yr degree and 1 yr of grad studies at Cranbrook Art Academy, not cheap). Not impossible, and it's a loan like any other.

Rust proof treatment's not the same
When it comes by any other name,
It's Ziebart, Ziebart
It's Us - Or Rust

I don't regret any of my education debt. Of course, ideally it allows you to earn more than you would without it, so maybe a good plan to pick a field where that it so, and have some passion for what you are doing. Education alone is not enough.

And Itty I will definitely let you know. Any idea when you think you want to rehome them by?
Now I'm not sure, a relative called and gave them hell. If it turns out I really do need to rehome them sooner rather than later, I'll let you know but as of now I'm staying here. It's so stressful but luckily i have the critters.

Okay and yeah absolutely. Hopefully you won't have to I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out but if they don't do let me know I'll take care of them for you
