Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I saw my podiatrist today and she said that bone growth generator worked. X-ray will confirm that. Plus she gave me a nerve-block injection to ease the pain from the neuropathy. I still have to be careful with all the walking I do each day. I'm averaging 20,000 steps a day.
Can the podiatrist prescribe good shoes?

Should be getting some chicks in the next few weeks.
Am torn about putting them outside right off the bat,
or taking the half day it takes to set up the brooder(after clearing the space).
Want to take a good look at them and get them all banded,
which is much easier for my creaky body to do in the brooder.
Is there a special reason to band them?

Mine start in the garage, separated from the flock, for the two weeks it takes for their Marek's disease vaccine to take effect. Don't have Marek's here, but if it arrives, the vaccinated hatchery chicks will be better off.
Ours are coming in mid-April, not so far away!
Hoping for a broody hen or two by then...
Mary
I did not know chickens had to be vaccinated. I got them at Home and Farm and nobody mentioned anything. Do I have to find a place for a vaccine?

Please let me know!

Thank you, I'm gonna start checking into things. Horrible that i have to deal with my grandparents like this.
I learned this from my adoptive mom " Better to do business with unknown people than with family" I applied it to everything. I proved to be so right. My older sister, once my father adopted me and died, the court said that his will was no longer valid due to my adoption and I needed to be part of the inheritance. I was probably like 14 and the division was 3 properties for me and my sister. I never got a penny. Now that she is a doctor, she sends me money once in a while and I take it.
I had a company and X wanted part of it and I said no. My business, my problem. I got an old friend and we did a lot better.
I do not know where you are, I know nothing about you but I am live alone and know of places for rent around and know people in the housing dep. If you need anything, reach me via text. I will put my number in profile for a few weeks like my picture. I do not like to leave these things on the "cloud" :idunno

ok, I am all caught up with everyone, I hope.
Bad news: Left the house at 8am after making sure the girls and the princess had plenty of food and water for the day. Got to Ann Arbor by 1115 and will have the surgery through open neck maybe May but have to see if I can find someone to take me and pick me up and someone to take care of the chickens and the dog. Three hours sitting left me in pain. And of course, 3 hrs back falling asleep and opening the window with radio as loud as I could to keep me awake.
Good news: Got the first covid shot. Someone did not show and VA did not want it to go to waste and since I asked, I got. The Lord is so good to me!
The chicks drank all of their water. Had to put more. Pixie is always fine. She know how to go to the bathroom if I am not home. But she did not, so no tub cleaning today. Yeap! She jumps in the bathtub to do her thing if I am not home.
Tomorrow my aluminum she will be here and this coming weekend, the coop building will start being raised, WOHOO!
So I will retire early tonight. Thank you all for putting up with me!

I think we're in the third winter?
😂

There was snow flying out there today.
