Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Yesterday afternoon it was so nice I built a fire in the yard just because I could. Most of the snow was gone and I could even sit in one of the chairs. About 11 pm I went to shut off the generator aaand it was snowing. This morning there was about a foot of wet, heavy (s word) all over everything. I opened the coop to feed the girls and they all ran out... and back in even quicker :) "Hey, Person, that STUFF is on our ground again make it go away."

We had been getting 11 or 12 eggs a day from our 14 girls. 6 today. Oh, well, tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 40's so we'll see.

Where in MI do you live?
Welcome to BYC and the Michigan Thread! @Burntfinger
Here's how to add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

Yep you guys get dumped on up there for sure. More even than the Seney stretch. My boyfriend worked in Big Bay one winter, many mornings he would go to work up in the Huron mountains and the air temperature was 30 below zero without a breath of wind, and there was snow almost every day. Although temps were warmer down near the lake, probably only 10 below.

In the next week my ducks are gonna be moved outside! Super excited but sad to see them already grown up. I do worry a little bit about predators and if they are gonna snatch them. They would be pretty well kept away from them at night, I was going to allow them to free range during the day and give them access to the garden to clean out all the grubs in there. Then during the night I'd put the back in their coop and maybe get a hutch they can go in too in case it's a little rainy or the weather just isn't being that decent out.

Geez, I work over the weekend and you guys blow up the thread with 4-5 pages of posts.
I read all of the posts but I'm too tired and unfocused to reply. Some people might think that is a good thing. :D

Never did get the snow that the radio said was supposed to hit. Did get periods of rain but my yard is not a muddy mess. I may not even need the pallet boardwalk I have to the garage and coop.

Working in the garden centre is a mixed blessing. I like the work and we have have some nice product. That is the bad side...I brought home some Pericallis annuals that are a stunning deep blue/violet flower. Hello, my name is Rand and I'm a flower addict....
Stop complaining old man, You are a flower addict, :lau
I was gone for about a week and had more than 5 pages. Good that you worked. That should help some, especially when you like what you are doing. Hope you get some time off to relax and enjoy it! Have a great day!

Want my $200.00 henspital to become a duck-Inn?
