Good morning everyone! Hope you got a fun day planned for you today. I'll be working around the backyard once I get off work. Be clearing brush out and making some area for my garden. Also got to clear out space for when the ducks move outside.

Speaking of ducks, today is the day I got to clean the coop out so I'll have to get some more cardboard from my brother's old work. Maybe they'll have some used tires I can score while I'm there.

Soooo... I got the Moderna shot in my left arm. My left arm feels like...

My right arm. Honestly, if I didn't know I'd had a shot, I wouldn't know I'd had a shot. The actual injection site feels like a very slight bruise.

I also got some sheets of cardboard while I was there. Someone was unloading a skid with some big boxes, and I stopped and said, "Ooo... I'd love to have that cardboard!" She said she'd leave it there, and I went back with a cart and hauled it off. No one even batted an eye as I went through the store with a cart full of flattened boxes.

I channeled my inner @RaZ today!

Same for me, but I got the J&J shot. Granted, I just had major surgery the day before and was going to feel gross anyway, but I really don't think I had any side effects at all.

Good for you. The good thing is that the pain does not last more than 24hrs. At least for me.

Hi Everyone. It has been a bad day for me. I deep cleaned the girls and they were crazy all over the room. I had a big blanket covering the rug and it was a good idea. But did not had enough wood chips so I went to get some but I got bad on my way home. I left it at a very thin layer for the day but I have no clue what in the world is going on with me. This has to be stopped somehow. I might need to pray more and get very busy with the Man upstairs.
Hope everyone had a good day. It was very hot. It went up to 78. AC on. Will have X come over to put the window ac in my room. I am not cooling the whole house, I just need my room.
If God and health allows, will continue with the next wall of the coop. That is if it is not too hot and the sun is not burning.

Still need to come up with a name for my coop and I am debating on a Spanish name or not. I have plenty of time for that. I already have the Henspital.

Right now they have multi colored Christmas lights on top of their coop so they have something to look at through the night and they have bells hanging from colored strings in their coop for them to ring. They also got access to their kitty pool where they are alwasy going nuts in there. Then finally in their little brooder box they have straw packed down and the baby blanket they used when they were younger with a stuffed washable toy in there

I must be crazy or something. I worked the garden centre again today but started 1.5 hours earlier. So lots of heavy lifting...bags of soil, mulch, cinder blocks, and more. So I got home with a good bit of sunlight and what do I do? I start moving rocks for a new border that I'm working on.

The rocks have been harvested from the property and range from golf ball size to larger than a suitcase. Mere ounces to 1000 pound boulders. I have a few around that are too heavy for even the tractor to lift. Crazy, right?

But you should see the colours of some of them, Blues, yellows, and reds. It amazes me that these rocks were deposited in my yard over ten thousand years ago. Now they are being used for decoration.

This nice weather sure is motivating me to get busy. I'm starting with flowers before the garden gets worked. This year's colour pallet will be purples and deep blues. Plus lots of native plants to help my local environment.

WOW....looks like everyone has been very busy! Glad to see all is going well. Ive been tied up the past week with work and finally got my first opportunity to work in the yard since I moved here in December. It is an absolute mess. Utitlities had to be installed from the street up the house that is over 500 feet up a hill. I’m sure you can only imagine what that looks like. There is SOOO very much to do. The property was neglected for years before I bought it so I guess it is only upside from here. I’m planning a trip to Kalamazoo next week on the hunt for a sub compact tractor...this yard is more than a push mower can handle. Fingers crossed. I ran across a guy on YouTube that owns a tractor company down there that seems very knowledgeable when it comes to additional implements so I can really go to town and get the front of the property spruced up a bit. I wish there was a falcon version of a tractor like your snow beast @Sally PB.

Also had the electrical installed in the coop last week! Very excited about that even though it wont be needed for now....

Lastly, I am contemplating a few more chicks for the flock. My ladies seem really happy right now and all seems to be running smoothly. I promised myself I would consider additional birds after my one year anniversary which is coming up in a couple of weeks. Now I’m a little tentative not wanting to upset my current situation. Any input to push my decision would be appreciated! I love my ladies and this might be the best time to get a few more.

Have a nice evening all and stay dry the next couple of days. Looks like those April showers are arriving right on time! I love the smell of the dirt knowing the ground is waking up!

I’m planning a trip to Kalamazoo next week on the hunt for a sub compact tractor...this yard is more than a push mower can handle. Fingers crossed. I ran across a guy on YouTube that owns a tractor company down there that seems very knowledgeable when it comes to additional implements so I can really go to town and get the front of the property spruced up a bit.

Not long after I moved here, I bought a John Deere compact tractor (3025E). It weighs 2222 pounds not counting the implements. It came with a 1/2 yard scoop bucket. For accessories, I bought pallet forks, a rear blade, a medium duty yard rake, and the JD quick attach mounting system. Later I bought a TSC "County Line" 3-point PTO post hole digger.

I love this tractor! It helped me build my garage, the coop, and the run. I've used it to move some of the rock that I mentioned earlier. However it is not a lawn mower.

For lawn mowing, I have a Cub Cadet with a 48" deck. I also have a snow blade for it that I've even used to push dirt & sand. In addition to the yard carts, I have a lawn sweeper to tow behind it.

I use both of these machines a few times each week based on the chore that it is best suited for. So tell your sales person what you need the machine for. And don't forget to ask about special accessories like tire chains and/or tire weighting. Do some research before shelling out any cash. Get what best suits your needs.
