Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

your window looks like it opens from the top, less rain will come in there maybe you can figure out how to put a slanted board above the window. not good at drawing pics but if you have a triangle with the angle side holding the wood and the flatter edge on the wall that would help keep the rain out

Was thinking of something like this but way less pretty according to my woodworking skills, :lau

I'm planning to move the chicks out next weekend. Does she have enough feathers to keep warm in evenings that get to around 60 degrees? They are about 4 1/2 weeks old.

The chicks don't seem to "get" the idea of the huddle box. They crowd between the box and the wall of the brooder. Is it because the box is dark inside? Should I cut another opening in the other end of the box?

Show us the box and where it is in the brooder?

I think it is too short, they should be able to stand up in it.
And make the opening on the long side.
Floor space should be big enough for them all to lie down with a bit of room to spare.
Ok! Thank you! I'll look for another box. I want them to get used to it before they move out to the coop.

@aart, do you think the grey chick in the above post picture has enough feathers to be outside at 60 degrees at night?
