Another score from work today. All of that load was supposed to go into a landfill.

 That just boggles my mind! Throwing out potting soil and mulch?!?

The weather prediction has -- surprise! -- changed. Rainy today, probably tomorrow, and into Saturday morning. It's windy right now, and looks like it could pour any minute. SO GLAD the weeding got done yesterday. Even if I'm a bit sore from doing it.

Integration is going well, I think. I have not seen or heard any signs that the bigs are bothering the littles. The next step is to partition the run. If it's not too windy outside, I'll get that done today. If there is some dry time tomorrow, I'll open the pop door and see if anyone wants to come out. I'm betting Stormy will be the first to try it.

:fl Really hope they're all pullets... I could replace my roo, I could give a cockerel to the neighbor, but I want to keep them and I want 3 more layers.

If I get one cockerel (I have suspicions about the Jubilee Orpington, but they've lessened a bit in the last week), well, sexed pullets are NOT a guarantee. If I get two, I'll be pissed. If all are cockerels, the breeder might get an earful.

Good morning everyone. Sorry that the last times I had been from the cell phone and it is not the same. Hope everyone is doing fine. @riss hope you have been able to make appointment with your doctor for the headaches. @Sally PB Your girls look so good. I envy your coop so much that I wish I was a chicken, would you be my mama? :lau

I mentioned you about the snake in my yard, so attached are some pictures of the roasted snake. Funny that Hub said that here in Michigan, he tried snake yerky. I told him that his jerky was ready :lau

Here is a picture where I am finally healing from "velociraptor Sophia" wound. I also wanted to show you how another bed cover is coming out. This one is for the Hub bed in his room. I do not know if anyone crochets here but it is the first time that I make the pinaple stich on such a big project. I think I am going to do it again but for a sofa cover. I kind of like the way I have been laying them on the sofa and it is not that bad.

I have been working on the run by myself on what I can and it is not looking that good but hardware cloth is going up. On the top sides, I am using only chicken wire because eventually, I need to put a full roof on it but that is later on and when someone can do it because I have no clue when it comes to roofing. Once I can move the girls to their final area, yes, I am following your advise and going with original plans, I have a shade cloth courtesy of a beautiful lady (@chickflick) to make them a covered area and then the netting on the rest for flying predators. Hopefully this will be done before July is over, since by October, I need to make arrangements on how to do the roof for winter.

Since the day of the snake and the lost of Phoebe scare, she laid that first egg on the floor. The next day she laid a soft shell egge, the next day she did not laid because I cleaned teh area hoping she will use the nesting boxes. Well, she held on and at night she dropped 2 on the poop board from the roost. So I felt bad because that night she will not have the snack and had a sad face. I figured she was ashamed of dropping the eggs and next day, I found a plastic bin and I cut on one side, covered it with cardboard and duck taped it around. Put wood shavings and placed it under the nesting boxes. She looked at it, went in and tried it but no egg. This morning, she had gone in and laid an egg there. So, mission accomplished!!!

Yep. Check with your doctor about the meds you take and possible side effects. I keep a list of both prescription and OTC stuff that I take. I even include vitamins and seasonal OTC allergy pills. I share that list with every doctor that I see. Even the dentist.
It took several years of "experimenting" with diabetes meds to get the right type and dosage for me. It also took a few years to get my heart meds where they needed to be. A recent addition to the heart meds is causing some unpleasant side effects. Two more weeks of this current experiment and I'll be re-evaluated. On the plus side, I've lost 10 pounds since the new med was prescribed. Not sure if it is a side effect or simply going without food.
I'm about ready to chuck all meds and just let the aging process do what is going to do.
Hope I got a med to make me loose 5 pounds, :lau They ususally do the opposite.
