Sure is rainy today! I'm coop brooding my girls, and this is their first thunderstorm. Just peeked out the window and they're all snuggled under the coop ramp.

Hoping we get some rain here too. I still have some plants in the garden that need it: peas and peppers. I need the habaneros to ripen so I can make hubby's salsa.

Got some time with the girls on this wet day...Shep is the second friendliest chicken I've ever met after Peeps, who was blind. Every time my arm was out she was on it, even snuggled in for a nap!

And the girls all settled on the roost bar for a nap.

And Ash has me slightly concerned that I have a boy chicken...can't tell if those feathers are barred or just mottled...either way a gorgeous blue bird though!

Aww, man, everytime I see a baby chicken. I love the ones that like to cuddle! My little bantam is still like that. I put my arm out the other day and she flew right up to it.

Oh yeah mine are all fairly friendly, other than the white speckled one it has to be on her terms. And every time Ash sees Shep the black one doing something, she has to do it too! She's always looking around like this too, haha.

She's observant. I have a bird like that, swore she was a roo for forever. Definitely a hen, tho!

That is too cute! My cousin posted a video of her silkies last night...if the new baby is a rooster I get first dibs. I did make sure I got one less bird than I had room for on purpose, right? Unless one of mine is a boy, then I'll just keep the four.

It's been several weeks since I got my chicks. I didn't mark it on the calendar so I don't know how old they are. I was supposed to have gotten 2 roos but it turns out that I only got one. He is a handsome boy. He has grown to the same size as the adult hens that I have. The practice crows always make me laugh. Can't wait until he gets his full crow on.

We didn't get the heavy rain or storms that were predicted for today. Only a couple of brief showers that only amounted to 0.02 inches. Barely settled the dust.

We got a steady light to moderate rain most of the day yesterday with little rumbles of thunder off in the distance. We have been so dry that it was very welcome.
