Idk, 4 cherry tomatoes?
That’s a borderline garden.
You’re holding the soil over for next year.
Better than some of us (me) did this year.
Not really much of a garden compared to what have done before. Making compost is an enjoyable hobby. It allows (forces) me to use the tractor to turn the pile. I turned it the other evening and got steam from the inside. A good hot heap that has been cooking since spring.

Most of my gardens are for the wildlife. I'm restoring some of the open area under the powerlines. I have several patches of native prairie grasses growing well. You should see all the insects thriving there. Grasshoppers, dragonflies, butterflies, and lots more. My last flock of free-ranging chickens loved foraging there. It probably won't be until next spring that I allow these young pullets to free range.

I had a scratchy throat at work yesterday that I thought was from the dusty truck. Today I suspect it is either a cold or flu. I think I'll probably call off work for tomorrow. Just feeling too punk right now. I'm not even outside to enjoy this beautiful day. No chores are being done. Falling farther behind on getting ready for winter.

Hello, hello, hello! I love you guys too and miss you. Thank God I am not trying to hide because Jonathan throws me under the bus,lol
All is ok. This has been a very rough year for me and all the old ailments coming. Facebook is my open to see funny things and barely type anything. But time to type here
Huge garden this year, completely gone to waste due to unavailability to attend. Weeds have grown fiercely. Tomatoes are just hanging in there. Got watermelons for the girls, like 4 of them. The strawberries disappeared, I think the chickens were able to reach them as they reach for the raspberries. But the corn, oh my, was able to get 4 ears out and cooked them right away and they were the best corn I have ever had.
With new medication ozempic. Oh, Lord, it's horrible at times. Diarrhea and vomiting day and night. Finally got used to the dose but Saturday began a higher dose. So back to the beginning. Spent all day in bed.
Doing a lot of crochet and amigurumi for art festivals around. Hub got surgery and he is a spoiled brat, lol
Itty-bitty has the most beautiful crow. Sounds like he has water in his lungs. Yes, he is a boy. So tiny and fast to get to the treats. But he wants to stay out in the run. Have to go every night to get him in. Baby'mama still broody on ceramic eggs. Had to move her to the small coop where LoveChild used to be. There are feathers everywhere. I can't believe chicken math finally caught up with me. I have 22 hens and 2 roosters. Mary, one of the big speckled Sussex began laying yesterday. She finally got a ring on her feet today. But the brown leghorns see me and they run like they had seen the devil, lol The buckeyes are doing well too. Pitbull have danced for all of them but they are not interested at all. All the bantams are separated except Itty-bitty who is among 20 big hens, lol His colors are so confusing. Father is LoveChild and mother was Lil'Mama, where the white came from is a mystery that maybe Mr Troyer can figure out.
Well, just threw up again. Going back to bed. Hope all is well for everyone. Anyone can text me for anything. Love you all!

Garden report from us if anyone is interested.

A spoonful of powdered milk in the hole when planting our nursery bought tomato plants= overrun with tomatoes. (We barely got any last year now we cannot get rid of them)

Hanging cloth strips and dousing them with water mixed with essential oil like lavender deters deer from jumping fencing. (Sad part is having to replenish after any decent rain)

For some reason we were overrun with jalapenos this year. But the sad thing is we didn't have very many hot ones. Our banana peppers more often ended up hotter than the jalapenos.

Acorn squash and cucumbers got decimated by squash beetles. And Japanese beetles were relentless with my moms rose bush.

We had our first cabbage from a garden in like forever even with the battle against deer.

Greenbeans we only had 3 plants and it wasn't enough to have a steady supply of green beans sadly.

I'm going to try that next year! Thanks for the info.

Catch the blighters and feed them to the chickens. :)
We tried the chickens wouldnt even look at them lol

As for the milk It's worth trying it on a few before you do it with all of them incase it works to well. My mom planted like 4-5 normal tomato plants and 1 cherry tomato plant. One plant even grew so big and bushy the tomato cage keeps falling over.

I've been playing tomato jenga in our window with slightly under ripe tomato's. Our vegetable holder is already overflowing with the ripe ones and jalapenos lol

WOW! My chickens go NUTS for Japanese Beetles! :lau
Thats what I thought but nope I opened the jar and tossed it (the bugs not the jar lol)
right where they were and they looked at me then walked away lol no investigation at all lol. And we get wood roaches under their waterer and since I have to dump it anyways I lift it up but never have they come over to get any. Its like "its bugs you should be going crazy for them!"
