We are forecast to get 1-2" of rain in the next couple days. I'll take it!

I got the front yard raked, but I'll have to do it again. The oaks still have a lot of leaves and some are still green.

Hey everyone! It’s been a while! I’ve had some health issues so I haven’t been super active but I’m finally feeling a tad better with a diet change. I can’t believe winter is almost upon us! I have a whole lot of winterizing to do now that I’m back on my feet how has everyone been?

As usual, we aren't ready for winter, still have things to do.
Today I put the vinyl over the west and south coop windows, the coop has been cleaned out, and mostly in good shape.
Horses are still in their summer field, getting their winter pasture is closer to ready, but not totally done. We have four round bales in the barn, and the winter's worth contracted for, so that's good. Stock tank heater and chicken water heaters not yet set up, but very soon. Horses will be moving for sure this weekend, before gun season.
The house still has some projects, but all inside, not outside (mostly).
The Lions are having a wonderful year!

Wow! I'd forgotten how good cherry crisp is. I've only made crisp with apples for --- a long, looooong time.

Cherry crisp is a little bit of silver lining in having to empty the big freezer. It is faster to make than pie.

Incidentally, dehydrating hot peppers after they've been frozen seems to be working. Dehydrating cherries after they have been frozen - not so much. I looked at them swimming in their juice and that is why I have cherry crisp.

I'm thinking some of the strawberries and cherries will go into jam. Doing it after the've been frozen isn't ideal but it should work well enough.

I use Costco's organic frozen blueberries and strawberries to make jam, they work very well, and are available usually, and less expensive than fresh.
