Oh, my! Wow. I just helped my son and his wife move into the house they just bought.
The previous owner was ... interesting. He'd lived here for 47 years. By himself, I'm pretty sure, for at least most of it. He took what he wanted at his new place at an assisted living complex and left the rest (that was arranged as part of the sale - sort of, it morphed a bit from "come pick out anything you might want except the things marked as going with him". Since the only help he had in moving were two quite elderly ladies, he left nearly everything.
The house is the ultimate time capsule as far trim, furniture, wall decor. The kids and their friends got quite the lesson in seventies' era things. I may say more about that later.
But, he updated what he cared about. And he got the very best.
The bathroom sinks are corian ... the best kind - with the seamless sink/counter top. And matches the tub surround!!!! Yes, the tub surround is corian!!!! With corian towel rod opposite the shower head and corian shampoo/soap holder (I didn't know they'de ever made such things). In both the master bath and the main bath.
The rest of the showers are up to that standard - shower doors are trackless glass (I'm not sure of the terminology but they are, like, hang from the top, barn door style, with a single splash guard on the outside of the bottom. And stainless steel grab bars that match the shower door hardware (and all other hardware in the bathroom) in style as well as finish.
Squeegeeing down the walls was interesting. The house came with the squeegee very nicely suction cupped to a shower wall. It was sooo easy! It was not much like running a sqeegee down plastic walls or (much worse) tile walls. The walls were soooo smooth, so polished - one swipe got ALL the water off with not a single streak of water left behind.
