Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

They're estimating we got 5" a few days ago and now it looks like we got about 2 more inches last night. Just a winter wonderland out there! I have to say, I haven't heard much complaints about the state of the roads, so that's definitely a bonus. We've all just settled into winter like we should. @Sally PB I'm concentrating really hard to get you some snow so hang in there! 🧡🌬️🌬️🌬️

So not good, again! Feels like we are surrounded by awfulness, and don't want a disaster here.
Right now our birds are inside, because they hate the snow anyway, and that's a good thing. Having them inside for months, not terrific, but might have to happen again this year.

Well, I am by the lakeshore of Lake Michigan. Today was a nice day and they all walked outside. Hub was like, how cute! While I am fighting eith Pitbull to get them all inside since they don't fell how cold the ground is. But praying and worried about what's coming after Saturday. They say windshield will feel -25. They have 3 heated plates in the coop by the roosting bars but I am scared is not be enough for -25.
Had an pushed off day but Sunday comes and will be back busy with classes and online studies as well. Pray for me, 😆

Love you all.

I've been a little worried about negative temps, but feeling a bit better the last couple of days. My SLW is still molting. She is looking a lot better, but her breast and saddle areas are still thin, however, I am starting to see the white of her breast feathers at least. She really hasn't come out of the coop for over 2 weeks now. She's normal acting otherwise.

I have never provided supplemental heat to my birds, and they are a happy, hearty bunch. As long as they have plenty of good food to eat (fuel for calories to burn), and unfrozen water, and protection from the wind with a good roosting spot, they will do fine.
