Aaaand now we have a new tick species, the Asian Longhorn Tick, found in Berrien County. Here is a link to the description.

I actually think I may have found these nymphs on my outdoor cat. Teeny tiny ticks I could crush. I hadn't seen teeny tiny ones on her before, just deer ticks.

Deer ticks in the nymph stage are very tiny also

Today I'm taking my two year old Chantie rooster to MSU for a necropsy, a very sad event, as he's dying, and I want to know for sure what's going on. He leaves a big hole in our flock, no youngsters here to take his place, at least not yet. I didn't order any Chantie chicks this year, and now I'm wondering if any of the TSC chicks will turn into cockerels.
He looked like Solo, another bird very sadly missed.
