Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Kinda makes me want to start canning. But I swore I was going to take a year off after all the canning I did last year... approximately 800 jars 🫣 Plus the stuff that I put up in the freezer.
I usually make spiced blueberry peach jam every year. My hubby's favorite.
Wow 800 jars? That's nuts! I barely have to patience to make 2 LOL

I am big. I am Sully. Thank you,View attachment 4174708 that will be all.
My big boy is named Sulley also. Just spelled a bit different. It's from the Monsters Inc movie. He was so naughty that we got him a friend. We thought he was bored. It was love at first sight. Her name is Boo,

Did I forget to mention that it's just hubby and myself? I try to share and tell my kids to help themselves but they rarely take any. I have enough to last me another year. I had a lot of help last summer since my sister was spending the summer with me.

I've done pints, 12 ounce, and smaller jelly/ jam jars, both freezer and traditional (with SureGel) and have seen no difference. More 'sauce' rather than 'solid' making freezer jam (must remember to use a bit more pectin!) but jar size didn't ever matter.
The freezer jam tastes so good, just like fresh fruit, it doesn't matter to us if it sets really well or not. Mostly it does set up, but not always.
Mary
