Yes! He does lol, he never gives an "evil eye" as we used to call it with our first rooster named Dumpling..

Saddened today. My neighbors did have a rooster in their hatch. It was fun to hear him practicing his crow at my two boys.

Saturday, they let their birds out to free range and didn't return until 11 pm to lock them up. The rooster and one hen were gone. I'm thinking it was taken by a racoon. I think I am more heartbroken over this than they are I would have gladly locked up their hens for them, but they never asked.

There were four chickens from next door that would not stay in their run, and were almost feral. They had good hiding places, I guess. I saw them in the spring, and by fall the group was only one. I was amazed they lived that long.

There is one from next door now that is often "out and about." I wonder how long she will live. We have raccoons, hawks, eagles. Hubby has seen a coyote, but not recently. Their dog has "gotten a few" of the chickens.

I'm very glad they didn't get any more chicks this spring. I think having chickens was something they were interested in, but that interest is dwindling.

It's akin to people with a Christmas puppy. When they realize there's work involved they lose interest.
