Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Sorry about your pet, Dream. It's so hard to lose them. I had three dogs pass in a short time last year. Heartbreaking. But, every one has been my "everything". They are all so special in their own way. I missed having that connection so much, that we adopted another dog within weeks. Smokey now is my everything. He's so special.
My may chicks are laying. Except for the one that is still limping. Don't see or feel anything wrong, but she won't put weight on it if she can help it. The rooster likes spending time in the penthouse nest box that on our upper deck. Hens have to wait on him to get out.
I got my flower beds put to bed. Last week did the front flower gardens. Friday I got the backyard done. Just ahead of the predicted s***.
John, good to see you on here. Sure did miss you at CS.

Fun, white morning. Discussion with my barred rock:

Me: *opens pop door*
BR: *runs to door, looks out, looks inside, looks back out* *screams*
"What is this???? *continues screaming* "Get rid of it!"
ME: *brushes snow from ramp*
BR: *runs down ramp and into covered area* *clucking* "About time"
ME: "Yes I know, I'll clear it faster, your highness."

She is always the first out in the mornings, but hates snow, or maybe it's snow blindness. She won't come out until I clear it and squawks quite loudly to show her displeasure about the situation. Had to share my chuckle with the cackling princess.

We got our first measurable snow today. I can't recall a year when we've had measurable snow on the ground as our first snow. It's always been flakes in the air that melt on contact. Counting myself as lucky though; the south end of Lake Michigan area (Benton Harbor, MI; Gary, IN; Chicago) could get 6-12" of snow. We'll get an inch or two here.

Very grateful that hubby got the Falcon plow running again yesterday. That was a long exercise (since June) in frustration.
