Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Everyone okay? Power on? It's definitely winter!
Our birds have been inside for two days because the weather hasn't been very nice. Today I saw a wound on one of our pullets, the bird who was recently broody. Naturally, a 'keeper'! She's now separated and in view of the others, her own area, and Silvadene all over her injury. Eating and drinking, and obviously it's at least a couple of days old, hidden by feathers over her back. :he :fl:(.
Why not, right? Must get more Silvadene tomorrow, this is going to take a while to heal. I think (hope!) it happened when they were outside, a failed predator attack, and not a wound from our cockerel. If he did it, other birds will be injured when they are inside, and he'll be dinner.
Rant over...

Must get more Silvadene
Where do you get this?

End of year power outage, because, well, why not! Hope everyone has power again.

Our power was off for about 25 hours. We have a wood stove as our main source of heat anyway, so we stayed plenty warm. We also have a generator, a small one. It'll run most of the things in the house (but not the clothes dryer), but not all at the same time. You can hear it laboring if we're cooking (electric stove) and when the water pump runs. So we run it got 2-3 hours, then turn it off and deal with just having daylight for light. It keeps the food in the fridge and freezer from going bad, which is a big thing.

Before Covid, our old gas powered generator needed to be replaced, and we are both over moving it and refilling it with gas, especially at 2am! So, we had a whole house Generax installed, it runs on our propane tank, wonderful!
Since then it's hardly been needed, and I feel like it's 'insurance' for us and neighbors too.
Silvadene, now generic, and a Rx item, so needs a prescription. Also, around here, least expensive at Walgreen's (looked it up last night), because I won't be at my vet's until next week, not soon enough for this pullet.
