Do you watch the news at all? These people are all over the news regularly!!!
I'm not going to say how I feel about them, but I suspect many others feel the same. Especially if they were or had a loved one in the military.

Actually I never watch the news. I don't have cable (by choice), and don't care to. I can read about any news that I care to online. I have seen this reports of this happening before, and I by no means agree with it, I just don't have enough hours in the day to "see for myself" about everything that I'd like to which is why I asked. I am a christian, and I can't see how this can in any way be considered christian behavior, so I was just curious why they thought it was. I suppose if I have time I will find out eventuallly, and if not, i just won't know.

I'm seriously considering going outside to do somestuff right now but it is wet and yucky and all I really want to do is sit here and knit, but the kids aren't having that. Only an hour and 40 min. until bed time for the kids...they are wearing me out today....

Honestly, I have listened to the news about the protesters and I don't know what they hope to accomplish by protesting the funerals of heroes. I am not sure that listening to the news would even help you...

I'm so thankful for the rain but I'm hoping it's not raining tomorrow morning! My oldest and I have another 5k in South Haven(4th of 5 races in the "Fruit Belt Series). We were running them all as a family but it's been so hot that the two youngest kinda dropped off. So DH, oldest DS and I were going to complete it but then DH had a complete bicep rupture 4 weeks ago and just had surgery to repair it last Friday. OUCH! So he's in a sling with two 3" incisions to heal from.

A product that I feel works a little better for winter protection of combs and wattles is Original Udder Balm with frost protection. The list of ingredients and their functions explain why I feel they work better than Vasoline.
Ingredients

Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A) OUL
A combination of retinal (Vitamin A) and palmitic acid, which is found in palm and coconut oil. Retinal is important for maintaining healthy eyesight, but also contributes to healthy skin by helping turn immature skin cells into healthy adult cells. In its role as an antioxidant, it helps prevent by-products of oxidation from causing cellular damage.
Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D2) OUL
Vitamin D can be made when certain wavelengths of light strike the skin. It has been recognized for many years for its role in forming strong bones and teeth, and is essential for health.
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E) OUL
Vitamin E is found in spinach and almonds, and has been shown to help protect the skin against the harmful UV radiation of the sun.
Aloe Vera OUL

Lanolin OUL
Lanolin is a special kind of wax derived from sheep's wool. It has a significant and long-lasting effect on skin smoothness. Mineral Oil OUL

Propylene Glycol OUL
Used in everything from aircraft de-icing agents to concert fog machines, propylene glycol attracts water and functions as a moisturizer to enhance the appearance of skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.
Sorbitol OUL
Sorbitol is made from sugar, and helps moisturize the skin by preventing water loss.
Purified Water OUL

These are emulsifiers, which is a fancy way of saying they help hold all the other ingredients together, keeping them from separating. Like how glue keeps macaroni art stuck to construction paper.

Preservatives which help prevent the growth of fungi and bacteria. These help keep your jars of udder balm from becoming gross and germy.
Fragrance OU⃠L⃠
Provides a light lemon scent.
FD&C Yellow No. 5 OU⃠L⃠
Provides an attractive yellow color

When I read Fuzzybutt Love's comment about aroma therapy I realized that I too use aroma therapy, but rather than using lavender I like 11 special herbs and spices.

I like udder balm for a lot of stuff too. A bit more pricey, but a good all purpose ointment.
Does that mean that the vitamins absorb into the skin? Sounds good!

..but don't know if they'll even show up...although...if Silly Chicken encounters them tomorrow... they may head this way after Grand Rapids....good news is that we aren't "traveling" anywhere. The service is being held right at the funeral home (Tues, Wed, Wasik Funeral Home at 22 Mile & Schoenherr, Shelby Twp) ...no traveling to a cemetery. He will be interred at West Point in December. They can stand outside and protest their little hearts out...I hope it pours rain. Buckets.

Good morning all, my family and friends will be part of that human shield. If anyone wants information on taking part, please PM me. There is no reason for a group to put forth such hatred in the name of God. Especially toward someone who died protecting the very rights they have to do so.

The doctors can't believe that he is still alive and kicking and moving well. Less then 3 months to go before his due date. My brother and his wife have got the burial plot picked out for him. Its hard for them.

I am not against protesting for a (worthy)purpose, but there needs to be a goal...what they are doing is just malicious and can't possibly accomplish anything but making themselves look ignorant. I got my 1st batch of chicks from TSC, 16 straightrun banties. I wanted 10 but was told that up to half could die so I bought 6 more. What did I end up with???

13 boys - 4 Belgian d'Uccle cocks, 2 Sebright cocks, and 7 OEG cocks.
3 girls - 1 sebright and 2 OEG pullets.

I kept all of them throughout winter. The d'Uccles turned out to be the most aggressive. Raised with 13 cockerels, the pullets turned out to be quite the little firecrackers. I gave my 2 nicest roos away last spring to a lady that seemed capable. Within the first three days of having them, her dog killed one and the other drowned in a kiddie pool that she was using as a waterer for her chickens/ducks. After that I decided that I would rather put any extras I have my freezer.
A hawk or fox coming in and taking a chicken is an honorable death in my eyes. Afterall, we're all just trying to feed ourselves and our families.
There is, however, no honor drowning in a kiddie pool, being chomped by a dog, and thrown on the compost pile.
The vision of one of my pet cockerels floating in a filthy pool filled with duck poo still haunts me.

It was nice of you to get your roosters a home and after that, the new owner is responsible. I rehomed one rooster, a beloved bantam pet of my children. It did not go well either and I had a lot of regret in giving those folks our pet. I did try very hard to find him a good home and I give myself credit for that.

OPA! You are using aromatherapy on your chickens also! Lemon scent!!
