You sure touched a nerve with me! I've worked hard and I've worked smart, but I was always passed over by those who worked "pretty". Or worked politically.

Brands do matter in the corporate world, what others think can help or hurt your career. Appearances matter far more than what people want to admit. That's a dirty little secret that no one will ever admit to. Hitting mid-life should not be an issue, but reality suggests that it is a factor. At least from my point of view.

I don't think that you are being "obsessive", I just think that if you are worried about what the "crowd" thinks, then you are missing the fact that you are "first class" and it doesn't matter what the guests think.

If you really want to be "first class" then be true to yourself. You can't make people like you or appreciate you, but you can like and appreciate your own self through your own eyes and not the eyes of others. Do that and you can't go wrong. Who cares what the crowd thinks. Smile and wink at them and they will go crazy trying to figure out what you know that they don't.
Sadly, I agree.

Picked more Blackberries last night and HAD to make my son a pie with the ones he picked. Today we start on chicken baths and grooming for the fair. The fair starts on Sunday but the chickens aren't judged until next Thursday. I have Salsa and Jam to can today and some sewing to get finished. It looks like we may actually get a few drops of rain today so I may not have to water the garden.
No kidding, the blackberries are so thick this year. Cindy put up a few dozen jars of jam for me. I picked this morning before the rain and I can see at least 25 more quarts forming.

So busy - My new rescue goat is now "not so free". Her damaged jaw is infected and the large animal vet sees her Friday.

Also, I have a RIR roo and hen that can go to a new home as a couple. They are about 4 months old and would make a nice pair for someone that wants to start a brood. If you think you want them I can be reached at [email protected] . Not coming on the website very often anymore while I wait for my son to repair my laptop.

Juise, so glad the fire was not more serious. I have 3 messy fairies here but none that clean.

Juise, so glad that was the extent of the damage and nothing worse. (can you come over to my place and do the same?) LOL!

Question,,,,if I put garden lime (it is grain like) will the chickens eat it and will it make them sick?? would like to sweeten the soil under the coop
I was wondering the same thing- we have added a new garden spot and are prepping it now. I was thinking that we had better wait until all the fencing is up before adding lime. I can just see all the girls in there eating it up.

Quote: My marans are blue so I don't expect to get the really, really, dark eggs. When I got the hatching eggs this spring, of course there were darker then the ones that I got now. I just didn't expect the ISA 's to give me the same color. I guess because they are a cross between brown and a white egg layer, that I would get much lighter eggs. Its a nice change.

Thank you! Hope you had a great day there with the grandkids. You are not far from me at all. I work just 10 minutes away from Davison . . .
Where are you at? I live in Lapeer County so whenever I ahve to go to Flint, I go right by Davison.

(Off topic) Did everyone hear that sosmeone in Lapeer won the Powerball last night....$337 mil. I don't think anyone has come forward yet. I hope its someone I know that could use the money.
