Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!!!

Probably won't make the meet up, but maybe the annual one in Lansing. I am  in Willis, which is just south of Ypsilanti!

Chris :)

You aren't too awful far from us, I have a 7 mo female Pekin if you are interested.

Has anyone seen olive or keyt? I've been super busy the last few days and skimmed posts but I did notice them MIA. What's up with that?

Off to fowlerville tonight for some rowdy, rambunctious shenanigans. The easyrider rodeo is in town, not for the faint of heart but still a good time with the right people:)

So much to do this weekend.......... race weekend at MIS, the Woodward Cruise... Easy rider (which I was invited to as well) Gonna miss them all. We're staying home because DH's first day on the new job, has him flying off to Germany for 2 weeks!! Will have to settle for a bon fire and beer at home. Cheers!

I am very interested!! I have to get hubby on board with the idea... How much would you want for her? I was worried I wouldn't be able to find that was similar in age!

Welcome to all the newbies

Snowflake, I must have been meant to attent this. We have a cabin in Lovells (just down from Caids) and that happens to be our anniversary weekend. We still need to get up to the cabin to close it up for the winter too.
hope we see you there!!
Have 2 of my grand kids for the weekend. took them u the the Danish Fest in Greenville. ate some, bought some, had a good time... Grand daughter is now down seeing how many chickens she can catch. she is 10 and loves to hold them. wish I had a movie camera, they are following her all around the back yard hoping for a treat

Hey Snowflake, glad you had a good time at the festival. Did you catch the parade at all? I was able to get some revenge on the kiddos. Bwa-ha-ha. It helped that my 2 squirt bottles were too stiff to squirt so it was more of a tilt your head and hope I get it in your mouth.

Just got in from Ann Arbor. Saw my brother, said our goodbyes, got teary-eyed and wished him off with my blessing. God keep him safe on his venture to Denver, Colorado.

Dropped my grandson off with his "Oma"..he was very good for all the running around I put him through today. The botanical gardens were very nice. From there we went to Briarwood Mall, Macaroni Grill, and the World Market.

I will go to the funeral home tomorrow to pay my respects to my old friend and her family. That should be rough.

My son just called me to come pick him up. Fighting with his girlfriend and wants to leave, move out, whatever. I cant tell him no, but I have no idea what he is going to do, or where he will sleep. I dont even have a couch in my living room for him to sleep on.

Mom, bring her a flower or a momento. I know they can't take them, but........... Or if the family isn't too nosey you could write a good bye letter and put it in there. Won't change things, but you can get it out at least.
I hope your son can help you out, it is never easy but if he can help with bills it could be a blessing in disguise. I gave my mom $200 a month plus bought my own food and did her dishes when i had to stay one time. She didn't want it, but she needed it. :)
But i've also been told no too, so don't feel like you HAVE to.

What no one on in the middle of the night! I just spent a very busy day, so busy I can't shut down and go to sleep now. My list today started with taking eggs and sunflowers to the farmer's market. I didn't stay today but my mom said she would put them in with her things. Then I did all the morning chores, washed up yesterday's eggs, 4 loads of laundry to the clothesline, jarred up my dried herbs and tomatoes, took my son and chickens to my aunt's so he could do his showmanship for them, tagged and packed everything for the fair and hauled to the car, picked veggies, took down and put away the 4 loads of laundry, made dinner (BLT's), cleaned up 3 pens for transporting chickens, washed 8 chickens and spot cleaned 2, finished a charcoal drawing, put chickens away for the night, and cut flowers for tomorrow. I also found out I sold a quilt today.

I had two at a art/antique shop in Bay Shore. So now I keep going over the list for tomorrow morning and can't sleep. After two hours I finally gave up. After checking in here I will go read some and hopefully get sleepy.

Friends know. One of my best friends from 20 years back - we only see each other maybe every other year and talk 1 or 2 times a year but it never changes, when we talk it's like time and space mean nothing, we pick up right where we left off.

Welcome to you who have just found the Michigan thread.

1muttsfan = too cool about your birds. We wanted to get up to see the fair but today was the only day free and there was no way I could go.

Ok now I am up for the day. What I forgot to do last night! Move the dried roosters from the cages in the basement to the cages in the garage. So at six this morning a wonderful chorus rang through the house and woke all! Have a great day. I'm just waiting on my coffee.
