Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Seeing all the beautiful chicken pictures has inspired me to show off my girls. They are not fancy by any means but beautiful to me

. These were given to my son in April and they were about 8 weeks old when we got them. I am looking forward to getting more in the spring and picking breeds and raising from very young... not sure about hatching them yet!

Here is Clucky... She started laying last week and has given us an egg everyday for 9 days in a row now! She lays about midday, but goes back to the coop to the nesting box without fail!

Here is Betty... Not sure about her breed... Buff Orpington????

and he's my Pekin drake... He's patiently waiting to meet his new mate... Thanks to Momma K!!

RaZ, the new avatar is awesome! Is it a red tail?
That is Gary, the young Cooper's hawk that got my BLA in February. That's when this photo was taken. He was in the ash tree next to my driveway as I carried the carcass out to the front. I figured that the hawk earned his meal.

That same hawk got into the garage coop a couple of months later and got one of my 8 week old SLW chicks. That was the time that he got in the garage and couldn't get out. I had to open the big door for him to leave. That was the end of March or so and he has not been back since.

caz - I love the chickens and duck~ Just beautiful!

I had a white leghorn once that looked like 'clucky'. I really enjoyed that hens personality, she was a chow hound/ food hog!

Nova - your white hen with muffs is beautiful also. Is she a favorelle?

Powder or liquid? I use the cheap liquid found in the bachelor aisle.

How did we get on this subject anyway?

Back to chicken stuff. I'm up to 169 eggs for August. That beats July total of 166. I think I'll top 200 in no time.
Raz - It was liquid. And I could totally school you on how to fold fitted sheets. I'm awesome at it! Maybe I'll make a video and post it to youtube for you.

Then Vanessa got involved and Chicken Grandma asked for the recipe and few were posted.
I offered demos and all was good on the Michigan thread.

I'll have to try that white vinegar idea on my hubby's fishing clothes, it does not touch the odor of fish I've noticed. Nor does it remove cologne smell. thanks for the tip.
We actually started using it on peed bedding. Our oldest had accidents for quite a while and it get's the pee smell right now. I would try it on the fish smell for sure. I won't guarantee it will work but it's worth a shot!

Caz - Love your birds!

M2M - I finally got some pics of your uggo and wannabees today(huh, my computer doesn't red squiggly wannabees...must be a word) anyway So I'll post them later.

She is a faverolle (Mr. F) x black bantams Cochin (Skeeter) offspring. She is lovely.

Video instructions are difficult for me. I learn better by actually having someone to show how it is done. You could come here and show me how to fold them. I figure that 1 or 2 weeks years of lessons and it might stick.

I really llike kirk's castile soap, our tamily fare sells it. about a buck apiece. I use it on my coffee stains, i have used it successfully on old ones that have made it through the dryer even! It is a great deep cleaner for your skin too. Does any of you happen to know how to get chocolate off a couch? One of our guests recently spilled warm chocolate down the side of my couch........ nothing seem to be working

just got the thing a month ago, was still enjoying it.
FUZZY! These ones are for you!

are you making fuzzy seagulls, lol.

Yup... Scrubbing bubbles. The kind without bleach. I know it sounds really weird, but it does work. I had this lovely sofa with floral pattern, and my ex SIL brat just had to have his food in the living room, and well, my ex wasn't mean enough to say no... Cleaned that crap right up. Chocolate icecream...
