What's interesting is the speed limit on dirt roads is 55 (unless otherwise posted). While I agree that people travel too fast on dirt roads, it is our responsibility to keep our animals and kids out of it for everyone's safety. I was a passenger in a vehicle that plowed through a flock of pekin ducks that were in the middle of the road just over the top of a hill on a dirt road. We were traveling around 35-40mph which was safe for the condition of the road which was lined on both sides with ancient oak trees and sparsley populated. That was one of the most horrifying experiences of my life and I can still see the vivid images of the poor ducks 15 years later. I'm just grateful I was being driven by someone who knew not to swerve because the trees would've won.
