Fuzzy, so very sad for you,

. feel glad for the time you had, maybe you could have a picture enlarged and framed. loosing a pet is never easy because they give there love so freely, no strings attached. they are a special gift. Some times I think that is why it hurts so much....Huggs,, give it time

I agree with what Snowflake said. My heart goes out to you Fuzzy.

Hillbilly Hen and Fuzzy -

I'm so sorry for both of you. Once the effects of your illness and the pain of your loss is gone, hopefully you will each find a way back to what you love.

Like every other pet and cherished loved one, a loss is something that takes time to heal from.
I'm taking the best of the best from HH (Laura) and when she's ready to start again I'll hook her up with descendants of her former flock

Sam,
I'm having more problems with the boat, lower unit needs work and the new wench must be sent in to manufacturer for repair. Time is begining to grow short for big lake salmon fall "run". I'll keep working on it. Bob

My visits here are getting less and less all the time. The chores are crazy anymore. Building a new chicken mansion soon, building a goat barn, and ramping up for salmon and deer (looks like CS north is out due to that being early doe season). Hope everyone is doing well, HH see you after Labor Day (ish).

I did see the post Fuzzy and like everyone else said, it's always hard to lose a pet.

Peace everyone and I'm outa here!

Fuzzy-

your basketball hen? I am so so sorry

I can understand your hurt. I felt like that after Carmen died. She was so much more a pet than just a chicken, with the personality of a dog. The others were 'just chickens' and caring for them felt like a chore more than not. I almost gave it all up when she died, as well.

I know that you must ride your bike to care for them- and my heart hurts for you, knowing how sad you must be. Have you any eggs from her? Maybe you or someone close to you could incubate them for you.
Yes, that is exactly how it is for me. I care about the other ones, but not quite in the same way as those two. I have only the one egg, though. She had been moulting, so not laying much at all.

Thank you everyone for your hugs and sympathy, i will think much about the chickens in the next few days, right now i just need to sort things out.

Everyone here has been so kind, Thank you!

All of my chickens have been sold. I even managed to sell the chicken coop camper yesterday that I had listed forever. My son is buying it to use as a storage shed

chickflick, I tried opening that link but it wouldn't let me.

Looks like I will have to miss the Northern Chickenstock. I only have some much time and money to put towards travel. And something just came up, so I will be needing to drive down to Mid Wisconsin. Doh! Maybe next year, I really, really hope.
