I guess that not all info on breed sets can be correct all the time... It says cream or tinted on MPC. But since you've got em, you'd know better than I would.

Momma K now owns my Lakenvelders but the entire time I had them I only ever got white eggs. White as snow too LOL

have a good weekend everyone.....
this weekend is going to mess me up BIG TIME. DH ran out of work/materials for his job yesterday, so he has today off (unexpectedly) and Monday off because of the holiday. Soooo, we're working on getting a LOT of work done on the new shed/coop. All the OSB is on the exterior, he's attaching the ridge-cap, and we'll probably work on installing some screens for venting under the eves next.
We also have starting clearing the garden of tomatoes. We have close to a peck of romas, and almost a peck of the cherry and yellow combined. Guess I need to figure out how to make some salsa!!

I have never built a coop where there are raccoons and minks and weasels so to those of you who have I ask - does Gladahmae need to use hardware cloth over the vents to keep the predators out? And recently I saw hardware cloth and it looked like chicken wire but with much smaller holes and stronger/thicker squares of wire. Also, it had some fasteners that I had not seen before to make it secure to the wood so that the predators could not pull it loose. It was pretty cool!!
You can't go wrong in using good heavy gauge hardware cloth securely fastened over the ventilation openings.
we've got all kinds of hardware cloth, and we also got some metal window screen to put up in the eves. We want to keep bees out of the shed as well, so I think we'll be re-inforcing the hardware cloth with the screen. BIL came over to help, so things are going a lot more quickly.
Finally after several days of not being able to postwill have to catch up to morrow, or later tonight but I wanted to thank Laura(HH) and her husband for a most delightful day. 2 wonderful people!! very nice set up it is so sad they are getting out of chickens. sickness is a hard task maser, They have a beautiful home in the woods, with so many humming birds, Awsome .I have only seen that many in magazines Maybe you should change your name to humming bird haven.....I hope we didn't tire you to much.......Got to meet BobBry also,,,, another great guy. He brought some high bush cranberrys (think that is what they were?) to plant AND got them all planted.... Thank you a most enjoyable afternoon.....
Snowflake, If you tired me out at all it was from watching you work so hard. I cannot express how much it means to me that you and Bob came out Wednesday. There are sure some wonderful folks here in Mi isn't there?
Snowflake even brought lunch!
I wish you could have seen the hummingbirds later in the day as around 7:30 they really start hitting the feeders hard.
