Glad, it would be better for your chicks to have clean bedding, and dispose of the old shavings. Exposing them to a highly contaminated environment increases the risk of infections and parasites.

Clean coops and brooders for incoming chicks not broody hatched.
that's what I was thinking. glad to hear that my instincts were correct. :) too bad it's so darn windy today or I'd be tempted to till it directly into my garden!

Hey there Juise! Long time no see. Got the kitchen finished?

Hi. :) NO, it's not! Not that I'm getting bitter. At least, after over a month of cooking all our meals for 4 in a toaster oven, I finally have a blasted stove. This is not fun when you cook everything from scratch. And the eggs are not very good. Nor are the pancakes. When are you and Fuzzy going to play with me?

To the poster that there EE started laying, those eggs are beautiful, I can't wait to get pretty eggs other than brown :)

ANd you mentioned you have an EE that lays brown eggs? Ahhhhhhh just my luck all my supposed to be blue/green layers will be roos or lay brown ones. :fingerscrossed: I will get a rainbow :)

I am hoping for the warmer weather they are calling for this week, we can't really run our heater while the dry wall is being installed, since the dust is everywhere.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their day.

I am going to go out and check out my chicks, they seem to literally change before my eyes.

I was just curious. Does anyone have any idea of where summer went or why it passed so quickly?
I think it has something to do with the whole vortex of life...the farther you are down the throat of the spinning funnel the faster you're spinning and the faster everything else seems to go....
