Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well Hi again Chickflick I am getting about a half dozen of eggs a day you could always make a trip here and buy some off me or bring your own cartons and you can have them 1.50 a dozen its up to you they have been laying great ever since we set the light timers in the coop. BTW Ben and Jerry are doing Great:)
Hi Dana! Glad to hear my boys are doing ok! Sure do miss them. If I don't get enough eggs for my kids, I'll let you know. Thanks for the offer! I don't want to set lights for the girls. I think they deserve a break from laying. But everyone's needs are different. Have a great day.... everyone

Well I did not want to mention this but we actually had a little snow on Saturday - was trying not to remember that happened, but I guess it is a sign of things to come. Anyone else been missing the smilies and other stuff up above the reply box? Haven't seen it for a few days.
How dare you swear like that! For shame!

Actually, I was looking at the radar on my weather program, I like to see where the rain is when I have to hang clothes on the line and I saw that there was snow up there in 1muttsland. Well, I have sympathy for you that you have cold enough air right now to give you snow, however, you can also keep it for a bit longer. I still have tomatoes that are on the bush!

My peppers have finally quit producing. My tomatoes have taken off again. I need to borrow a dolly/hand cart to get them into the garage for the next bit. They have gotten so big and laden that I do not dare to try and carry them by hand.

Poor boy... he is going to need some really yummy "good boy/busy" treats too!

I love the compressed rawhide bones for my big dog...It takes him a week or two to finish a 8in bone instead of him gulping it right down!
I made scrambled eggs for my chickies... BUT....

I made some pancake cups a few weeks ago that were pretty good...

1 cup flour
1 cup milk
3-4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbs melted butter
Mix it all together really good and scoop it in to muffin/cupcake pan
fill them to 1/3
Bake at 400* for 15 min or until golden brown

I put raspberry preserves on them Mmmmmm!
That sounds yummy and looks pretty easy, I am going to try it, thanks

And sounds like something I can get a 3 and 4 year old to eat. I guess I know what is for dinner tonight, thanks!
I am not a big- just egg- eater... the original recipe called for 6 eggs... it ended up more like a quiche.

Enjoy!

You beat me to the picture spam! I actually worked up a good sweat today making my chicken run look as pretty as it has in a while so I had to share. Last year I threw two gourds into a pile of leaves, and this summer they grew into plants and all these gourds. Pretty good payoff considering I did not even water them!

I had already raked out cedar mulch this morning in the landscaping timbers we just put around our entire garage and chicken run. Too late in the season to plant flowers now so I figured it was a good place for the gourds!

Betty and Kate seem confused as to why I am putting all the treats on the wrong side of the fence...

And finally, a photo of my silkies who are getting pretty jealous of all the attention the cochin's run is getting. Hunny-bunny (buff) s about ready to jump through the chicken wire trying to get to me. Never had a chicken that wants to be with me so badly!

Sarah, looks lovely, would chickens eat the gourds if you cut them in half, because I had a bunch grow out of a compost pile also.

Are those Silkies new, or were they hiding when I was over, I really want to meet a silkie :)
