Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Yes they would.
I will give that a try - I put some in there but not cut in half so they probably think they are fancy eggs or something if they aren't cut in half. The silkies were here, but they were in my tractor which doesn't have any lights otherwise I would have given you a peek. I am hoping on getting more silkies next spring from ordered hatching eggs. The three I have right now are all hens since our silkie roo started kung fu kicking my three year old. :P

Poor boy... he is going to need some really yummy "good boy/busy" treats too!

I love the compressed rawhide bones for my big dog...It takes him a week or two to finish a 8in bone instead of him gulping it right down!
I made scrambled eggs for my chickies... BUT....

I made some pancake cups a few weeks ago that were pretty good...

1 cup flour
1 cup milk
3-4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
3 tbs melted butter
Mix it all together really good and scoop it in to muffin/cupcake pan
fill them to 1/3
Bake at 400* for 15 min or until golden brown

I put raspberry preserves on them Mmmmmm!
I just made them and they are really good, they raised really high and fell into a crater, are they supposed to do that or did you forget an ing.

Ooh, LMK when you get them, maybe you can hatch 2 for me, I would love a couple of them for fun :)

No, but if you go to Muskegon craigslist, type chicks in the search, you will find him. He has them for $2 and quite the variety. I got both my boys from him.

thanks :)...( and sorry about the no spaces my space bar dosent really work ...u have to punch it to get it to work lol

I see spaces...

I just checked earlier, he doesn't have an add up right now. I am planning to pair up one of the boys to my girls in the spring... I have to wait to see which boy I favor though, at 3 months old, I am seeing what I like, but I am waiting to see which is the best when fully grown.

I'm pretty sure Randy has his chicks listed as pullets now. 3-4wks old and $3 each? I think it's him anyhow. I've talked myself in and out of driving all the way down there a few times this week.

Anyone had suggestions about a chick with a chronically poop-covered butt? One of my wyandotte hatchlings has it. The other 2 are fine. I've given this poor chick a bath for 3 days in a row now, and it immediately looks pasty again 2 hours later. :(

Actually, I have a suggestion.
One of my Araucana chicks had pasty bum that lasted longer than the couple of days the others had. Turned into a constipated like problem, just couldn't go. I put a little bit of mineral oil in the chick mash (given 2x a day). Gave it a few days, no improvement. Uped the anti. Also gave 'her' a mineral oil enema using the child medicine syringe. The tip fits up the vent just right. Just a little bit. Give it a few minutes. Follow with a long, warm soak. Took 2 day of this process, but chick is now eating aggressively and pooping easily. I figured that you could put anything on the bum, but it would wipe off. Having them eat a little of it would help it slide out easier. It worked!
