First party is done. About 50 family members were able to make it today out of 65

We had the party at my church and it was a big hit! A gym, ping pong, area for the young kids, and big meeting area. My cousin is having a party after the party tonight, where adult beverages can be consumed. We will probably go. First have to get something around for dinner.

Have a great night!

Sarah

That's awesome, Oopsy. Looks like he'll be a happy boy. Good for you for deciding to travel! My hubby has traveled a great deal, and has been to Ireland several times. I'm hoping that now that I'm in his life, we'll get to do some traveling together eventually.

Good morning everyone! Would anyone be interested in a beautiful EE roo? He is about 5 months old and is off of Miss Jayne's famous Flapjack! He is so far pretty laid back- no crowing yet, as he seems to let my little Serama Roo run the show. " Miss Jayne's Flapjack is very good tempered but takes good care of his flock.) I hope someone wants him, as he is too pretty to eat!

Good morning. Gonna clean the coop again today. My waterer is always dripping in the coop. I am so tired of it. I guess I should get a new one, but this one was just bought it this last spring.
We have a hawk getting braver. I was coming out of the coop this morning and here it was flying low over the chicken yard. Most of the chickens took cover. It just killed a all white pigon that had adopted us. All that was left was a pile of feathers and it's little red feet. The pigon was not living with the chickens though. It stayed by our back porch and hung out in the back yard.

Today sure start out cold and foggy. In spite of reduced visibility due to the heavy fog I saw more deer this morning than I have seen in the entire rest of the season. I have been passing up the few does that I have seen, while waiting on that trophy buck, but decided since I have yet to see even one buck, that today would be "brown is down". I did manage to get two nice does. I'll get them butchered and be ready for the muzzleloading season that starts on Friday. I had planned on going back out this evening but the rain has moved in so I'll wait and see what tomorrow looks like.

Congrats Opa. I'd rather have a young doe or buck in the freezer than a head or antlers on the wall. As they dont taste very good. LOL

Wouldnt you know that I went and got 700#'s of dog food and grain only to be sitting in the back of my truck and it starts raining. Had to run out and tarp it all until the neighbor boy gets home to help me unload it. The news said yesterday it was gonna snow here today, boy were they wrong. It hasnt stopped raining since early this afternoon everything is so brown and muddy here. Doesnt give one much motovation to due much outside with weather like this.

CCF had all but 2 of her last batch of eggs to hatch and 3 are showgirls. Her camera isnt working properly, so I'll get over there this week and take a few pictures to post. Those showgirls are so ugly, they are cute. Kind'of grow on ya.

Opa, great news on the deer. Congratulations.

Still nothing around here. My husband hasn't even seen anything close enough to shoot.

This weekend the boys got to go out hunting with him. Our 6 year old only made it an hour and came back in on his own. He said he doesn't like to be quiet that long.

If you know him it makes perfect sence. Collin is 10 and stayed out 4 hours with dad till dark.

hey guys, haven't posted in a while. hunting season is a busy time. I went to the U.P. for 2 weeks and got lucky on a big 7 point (biggest deer I have shot so far). I just finished up 21 meat birds today. I am hurting. it is just me, a knife and some hot water. it reminds me of a good day duck hunting. I would recommended to anyone not to raise thier meat birds in thier pole barn! After the neighbors dog got my eggers, I could not put the meat birds outside and take the chance of him getting them. Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving.

The weatherman just announced that the coldest weather since March will soon be here; are we lucky. He also stated that on Wednesday night we may have our first significant snowfall. I'm ready for it, I just don't want it.
This getting old certainly sucks. Just a few years ago I could stay out half the night and still get up early the next morning without any problem. Now just hunting every day wears me out. I got up a little before 5am fully intending to head for the woods but I just feel too tired so I think I going to lay back down for awhile. Have a wonderful day all.
