Sam - that sounds like a good excuse to take a nap this afternoon if you have some free time. My problem was that I left open the curtain last night. At 3am the moon was shining right into the room. I woke up and thought I had overslept! What a cruel joke! I'm on my 2nd pot of coffee cuz I've got to work 12 hours today

Haven't culled the hens yet, I'm going to point them out to DH so that he can do it this afternoon. He said that he always can use some extra trapping bait

A question everyone. I was wondering if anyone know of a couple up in Twin Lake MI (without the S) who has ortamental Pheasants. I bought some Pheasants from them last year and I want to buy from them again, only I don't remember where I got their number from. If you can help me out, that woudl be great, Thanks!!

Dag nab it - it's frigid! Chickens don't seem to mind though - they are actually increasing their production

Also for the first time ever I'm seeing little downy feathers in the nests and have 3 hens I'm having to dissuade from setting. It's too early for me to deal with chickies but I know when I them to set, they won't

5am and the clock with no sound, and sadly no off button, has gone off and I'm wide awake. Temperature is 1 degree but at least there is no wind. My egg production is going up as well and I also have a hen wanting to go broody. I need to go down and open up the nest boxes but I may wait until I can at least finish a cup of coffee. Maybe by then the temperature will be warmer, like 2 or 3. Thought I post this for those who profess a passion for pictures of posterior posing.

Same internal alarm clock went off here this morning. Coffee is ready here. It is colddddd. SOMEONE- left my back door open all night. Kids stay up later than I do, I make sure everything is shut before I go to bed. My husband is as bad as the children though. So, I dont know who did it- but the back door was WIDE open, and the utility room feels frozen.

My husband tells me we have a tax appointment this morning. i ask what time, he says: Some time this morning. I dont know. You'll have to call. Ummm..
its too early for an argument, so i let it go. If I miss the appointment, I miss the appointment.

Im waiting on sunrise so I can go gather the water buckets and thaw them out. And enjoying my coffee.

Yep..it's COLD out there. Just about froze my fingers off! I'm with you, Sam. My fingers absoulutely start hurting in this cold. Got all the water bowls refilled and all the chickens and rabbits are taken care of. Now, to defrost my fingers! Got some errands to run. Still working on the bathroom. Ordered the vanity from Starline. Nice stuff there. Think we got the most expensive, but I fell in love with this vanity. Looks like a piece of furniture. Got the granite picked out, now we need to find floor and wall tile. Need to keep that simple since the granite has alot of color in it. Definately not a week end project! Have a great day, all.
