Good Morning! Good to see you on BYC, Shelley! Been so busy, but I think things will begin to slow down a bit. Still working on the bathroom...well, hubby is! Almost ready to tile the floor and bath surround. Arguing about when to paint the walls. I want to see the counter top installed before I pick a color and hubby wants to paint before we put the top in. But how can we when there are so many colors in the granite??

Maybe we can get a sample of it and go from there. But even so, the granite is so different that a small sample piece will not show all the colors. The fun of renovation. Looks like a good day to take the dogs for a walk, even tho they both got groomed yesterday. Have a good day, all.

Good morning Michigan,
Wylie, continued prayers for your S IL and family.
ChickeeMomma, hope your daughter is better soon.
Vickie, how is Maya doing now? Sounds like she must have had a hard time. I will be putting on the red as soon as DH gets up. I don't think he would like it if I went in there now to find something red to wear. I would have to turn on the lights and I might just find a grumpy old bear.

Hi Laura,

Maya is doing great! She is my hero! No one told her these things might bring her down, or be an obstacle, so despite 2 heart surgeries and then a major stroke 2 years ago, she meet each day with a smile and a zest for life! Unfortunately she will need additional heart surgeries in the future, so we are not done with this journey yet, but I have no doubt she will come through with flying colors, because she is a miracle!!

It's that time of the year, Aidan was home this week with bronchitis. Poor kid ws running a 103.2 temp. He's doing much better now and is back to school.

I just had 30 bird processed today, and we are firing up the smoker in the morning. Yummy! Lots of good eats for the Super Bowl party.

Vicki, , my geese are really having a great time right now. I moved them into the winterized hoop house with my layers and a few meat birds I held back. They are loving all the attention. Leopold is still the attention hog of the two. It surprises me that a Gander is so freindly. I'm sure that will change once breeding season is in full swing.

Ellen,

My boys are attention hogs too, silly boys!! Beware though, they can then become a bit cranky as we enter breeding season!! They are fairly good for me, but I am not afraid of them, and usually I can warn them off by shaking my finger at them and a stern warning. I know they are just walking hormones, so I don't take offence, just like teenage boys!!

That is wonderful that she is so resiliant![sp?] I hope all goes well for her. My oldest son also had heart surgery when he was 3 months old. He had a hole in between the two lower chambers of his heart. I was just 19 at the time myself and scared of my own shadow. He is doing well now. He had to have a cardioversion done a couple years ago and then after that failed he had to have an ablation, where they burn part of the heart. Thankfully he has a wife to make sure he takes this seriously.

Can anyone help this person?

I wish I could, but I've got my hands full with all the muscovies. I just love my ducks!

I am interested in purchsing a few more Emden geese if anyone is ordering or has a few for sale. I would like ones of the large side of average. Bob needs a boyfriend as Kate really does not want to share Leopold.

Can't blame her as he's a good looking gander.

Good afternoon all! No ducks for us, that is a no way from my husband. He has grown to like the chickens exspecially now that we are selling eggs and they almost pay for their feed now. I set 4 eggs under a broody yesterday. This will be my first time letting anyone hatch eggs. Well actually second but the first time was pretty much not gonna hatch with 1 silkie roo and a bunch of standard chickens.

Shelley -- thanks! I think she's feeling lots better. She's a tough cookie when it comes to being sick. She had open heart surgery to correct a congenital heart defect one and a half years ago. When they took her off morphine, she refused any pain medication (can't remember the name, but it was probably like vicodin). She had been poked and prodded so much she didn't want anything to do with medicine. She's completely fine on the heart end now.

I am hopefully optimistic that spring may show up early or maybe the rest of the winter will be milder than the past few. Mine are laying pretty well, too. Wish I had some broodies like others on here!

Good Afternoon!

Hey Opa- My friend in Washington DC is looking to borrow a snow blower this weekend.... Lots of snow predicted this weekend down there. I told her she will have a great upper body when she is done shoveling!

My SIL's procdure went well, only took 25 minutes. Will know in a few months if it killed the tumor.

No ducks for us. We have 4 calls and that is plenty. My daughter, Emily, has a different opinion if you ask her

I am a taxi driver tonight. Driving 2 kids to 2 different events, in different towns, at the same time!!!!!

Have a great weekend!

Sarah
