Good Morning!

Everything safe and sound this morning. Nothing in the live traps, but something at all the cat food in the small trap. I am thinking mouse or chipmunk. small enough to not set it off.

Another meat chicken dead this morning. Not sure why. This makes #7 we have lost so far. At this rate, I am going to have to order another batch of meat chickens so we have enough meat this winter.

Still no sign of Rachel's BO with the amputated wing

Thought she would be out and about this morning. Hope she wanders back.

Wish the humidity would lower itself down some more

Enjoy your day!

Going to spend the weekend tearing off and replacing a roof at my DP house.... glad it's not supposed to be as hot as this week was.

Is it normal for a hen to be a bit sporatic about laying eggs when first starting?

Free Patridge Silkie Roo.

I'm in Livonia, and looking to re-home this little guy. He's about 3.5 months old and a little agressive.

I do not know where Norville Michigan is... I live in Macomb Township.... In Macomb County... I wanted to find out where to purchase some chickens... The ones I have now were from my grandson's preschool project... the Teachers at St. Peters Lutheran school hatched them on April 12th... they needed a home and I volunteered... I just love it... but I have found out from a neighbor (since I am chicken challenged) that I have three roosters...

lol I hear you can find places that sell chickens that are 4-8 weeks old..and older... that way I am part way there and they do not need to be under a light and all. could you tell me if you know of any places?

What kind of chickens are you looking for? Large Fowl or bantams.

Large Fowl I guess... I don't know what kind of chickens I do have....I need to post some pictures... I see that Norvell is near Ann Arbor....

Hola gallinamama

Check out www.bestfarmbuys.com Shelby on here sells her chickens on it and I recently sold some to a BYC'er via that site. It's a little more ... sophisticated ... than Craigslist. Fewer looky-loos and more serious buyers. There's some for sale in Oakland county on there now.

Don't be afraid to drive too far to get quality chickens either. Just bring a cat carrier or two. We drove almost 3 hours to get a free rooster but he was worth it.
