By the way, saw Opie and Sadie go at it for the first time (well, first time we saw it anyway) this morning. Then right after Opie was finished, Willie the male call tried to get on Sadie. It was the funniest thing to watch!! lol

kate I offered him to you before- and you are more than welcome to him. He has worn out his welcome here. I don't want to put him on Craigslist because I do not want 'just anyone to take him'. I want him well cared for. That is why I have only said anything on here.

The problem is that I only have three chickens. And the one I rescued from a yard of fifteen roosters. She was bald, and now she is feathered out and beautiful. The other is my frizzle. They dont get hurt, they run- and well, they get caught all the time. He makes me want to ring his duck neck. The other hen is my old Carmen with her bum leg. She survived several weiner dog attacks and she is alpha bird around here, and as loved as a favorite pet first, chicken second. Dumb duck. Oh im certain that if a rooster was around, he would keep his distance. At least the second time.

I dont know why he cant just be content with Quackers- she sticks right by him. Or the muscovies.

I have 5 roosters. I have a few big ones, but it's the Belgian Quail and especially the serama roos who don't let ANYONE mess with the others. EVER. I never have any fights here with anyone! Like I said, the ducks spend all day either in the duck run or out in the yard next to the duck run. At night they all go into the barn and there's never a problem in there either. One side is chickens, the other ducks. In the spring we'll be expanding the duck run so right now it's kinda small, but plenty of room for one more!

HELPPPPPPP!!!

I just received a letter from my home ownersassiocation and they told me that I have to remove my chickens and coop with 15 days or Ill be getting a fine. When I statred this 4h project for my kids I called the city of Washington Twp and they stated that we are a-1 argriculture and that I could have want I want. Since I got the letter I researched the assocation and it does state no farm animals.

I have a small 4 x 4 x 9 coop with a kennel run attached. Very clean and holds 8 silkies and 3 leg horns. The leg horns for my husbamd and I and the silkies for the 4 h project.

What am I going to do. How can I tell my kids that the chickens might have to go????

I wrote the ass tonight and informed them about the 4 h project and the eggs from our consumtion due to the salminella outbrake. I sope to both side of my neighbors and they stated that they would sign a petition. What Else Can I Do????

Nope. MRFA will NOT cover this, as it is in a HOA, and it is against ytheir bylaws.
