I saved the egg I"ll use it for baking/eating. Also I cleaned my box out. A little late since I just saw you 2hrs ago!! MrFluff He is doing marvelous and I love him to pieces he walked around our house making his happy soft honk, jumped on our couch and looked out the window! ROFL!! My Great Dane was so scared of him I laid on the floor and she backed her rear end up against me and sat on my hip and just watched him.​

Keyt...glad you are recovering from your surgery. We're going to Traverse City today for a doctor appt. and then to look at some sheds . We have a 8X10 coop now but would like another one....my hubbby was going to build one this summer but he has to fence in our back yard, build a pig pen, rabbit cages and transform a travel trailer into a movable coop. Think that turning a shed into a coop will be the best option or he will be busy all summer working on my honey do list!
Looks like we are at day 34...til April 1st!!

I have to go out in this snowcrap to get my antibiotics,

ANDD lug water out to the ducks and chickens.

AND find the bird feeders and fill them up with seed- dont know how the birds are going to find them though, the wind and snow is so bad.

SAM! How many days til Chicken Stock? Have we started the count down?
ANDDDD- I just might have to let my husband come with me this year, so he can meet you. Ive talked about you enough- he should have a chance to meet the Legend.
But then again, he can say "no" pretty well when it comes to me purchasing chickens...but, maybe just maybe he might find something HE wants that I wouldnt have gotten otherwise...
If someone gets him playing horse shoes, or the corn hole game, I may be able to impulse buy...

I lost 3 of the 10 new chicks overnight. I checked them late last night and they seemed to be fine. They weren't drinking any water until yesterday. I am wondering if that may have had something to do with it? The other 7 seem to be fine this morning..... They came from Meyer Hatchery through MyPetChicken.com. Does anyone know what the Hatcheries do to resolve a situation like this if anything? They would have been here 2 days this morning.....

I raised 12 chicks last year purchased at Tractor Supply later towards the end of March last year and all did well...... I was trying to get an earlier start this year. The hens didn't lay until the begining of August last year. Tractor Supply didn't have a great selection to choose from in the store. So if you want a certian breed they may not be the best place to buy from. Their Mail Order Brochure has a lot of choices, but the minumim order is 25 chicks.

I don't know that I'd mail order again.

Sorry for your loss. I have never gotten chicks by mail so I am no help there but if it was me I would give them a call.

OMG I just ADORE and LOVE LOVE LOVE Mr. McFluffyPants!! He is sitting on the couch with my Great Dane! My son brought him in this morning and McFluff fell a sleep on him then curled his head under his wing right on my son. Pictures are coming soon!! I GOOSE JUST STOLE MY HEART!!!
