Welcome Pyncheon guy and Franciska. I'm sure you'll be glad you have found this thread. Lots of nice folks here.

I once had a pair of pyncheons and they are indeed a beautiful bird.

Francheska you should look into Vorwerk bantams. I know I am certainly pleased with mine.

My flock had for some reason almost quit laying but they are starting to produce again. One hen, an ameraucana, must have felt particularly guilty about the slacking off and decided to gift me with a 4 1/2 ounce green egg.

CricketYang, let me know how you like those. We thought about getting some but may wait till next year to take the plunge.

Ditto! Cricket are you going to free range those freedom rangers? I will be interested to see how they do. I have cornish crosses coming mid June and plan to do the hoop house pastured thing.

Wow, I love those! So pretty!!

So once again we are lucky. Aric found an ad for a guy who was giving away the wood and siding from a garage. I looked at the ad and it was the same guy I got the fridge in exchange for 4doz eggs yesterday!! Woohoo free supplies to make more coops...this time to sell!

I candled eggs one last time tonight. Everything with the exception of a couple are very visible, especially the ducks and frizzles. SO exciting!!

I keep smacking my hands and telling myself one breed is enough lol Although I am still searching for some nice silkies for bug control in the new rabbit barn.
